A broad expanse of sand interestingly located at the river estuary. Fascinating cliffs, rocks and caves.

Unfortunately we arrived too late to go down to the actual sand beach and take a stroll butthe view from above was fantastic.

Bird watching, beautiful beach and walking or just doing nothing. But limited sunshine hours because its protected by mountains each side.

Breath taking scenery, golden sand, magic sea, invigorating water -- why travel far when there are such treasures in Europe?

That beach is a really quite place for relaxing holiday. I really recommend it to people who wants to relax and stay away from the crowd and noise.

Lovely beach and stunning views across to river. It is a little way from the usual tourist haunts of the Algarve but has a nice village nearby and beautiful location

I had surf lessons here and really enjoyed it - it's a beautiful beach and has a nice cafe at the top overlooking the cove.

It's not a huge beach, but it's an amazing one. In August it gets really full of people. In the rest of the year it's possible to appreciate it's beauty. The water is great and you have beautiful rocks all around. The river side it's also great, specially if you have kids. The beach have life-guards who are always alert, so it's very secure.

Beautiful beach, great surf/bodyboard spot or other river sport!Perfect to see the sunset. You can have a glass of wine at Kiosk Agapito. It's a good place to relax

This is a beautiful beach, next to a very nice village, largely untouched by the urban sprawl in nearby Algarve. Popular for surfing, but also great for just sunbathing. It has been awarded a "blue flag" which in Portugal means it's one of the best beaches, clear water, clean sand, and nice facilities.The scenery is gorgeous, like most beaches in the Vicentine Coast, the beach is a strip of stand that sits between huge cliffs. In this case a small river flows to the sea along a bank of sand. You can choose where to bathe, in calm water inland, or the ocean waves.

Fantastic beach, Very nice view and very nice water and sand.There are two masseurs on the beach if you feel like!The car parking is not very easy.

Great for surfing, with cafés and bars and wifi available. Getting bit crowded after lunch, but still not as commercial as the well known touristy spots.

Stunning views, clean beach, inviting sea. With the ever changing coastline you it feels like a new beach each time we visit.

You have to arrive early in the morning, or else you end up walking miles to park your car! This beach was considered one of the best in the area. Big, with nice waves and a great river - you may try to go all the way to the beach with your kayak if the tide is on your side!Best in June and in September.

Lovely beach - quite busy in peak time but understandably so. Beautiful clean sand and fascinating rock pools over by the rocks.
