well it didnt take much to see why this was one of the 3 top Cathedrals in Europe. The stained glass is amazing and the choir singing with those acoustics made for a very plesant experience
The front of building is extremely beautiful at day and night. The illumination of the Cathedral helps the look. Inside there are lots of chapels with different objects that are different and beautiful too. You can take pictures without flash.
Unique and full of history, set at the plaza, in old Leon. Very central and next to the museum. Closed in the afternoon for siesta.
Fascinating and beautiful cathedral. Good audio guide. Visit the museum and cloisters too but make sure you understand how you get out of the museum - they unlock the door to let you in and I then joined up with a group so that getting out was ok but that all felt a bit odd!
The stained glass windows are amazing. The museum is also very advisable, although I missed the help of a guide.
Gorgeous gothic building, lit up at night in a bustling area it is great to head for and see the city at night from there
After some fancy weddings completed we were able to tour the Cathedral. It is one of the most amazing in Spain. A must see!
I had no idea this cathedral was on par with Notre Dame and Chartre. This is probably the most spectacular display of stained glass in any gothic cathedral. I actually visited twice.
The Cathedral in Leon - Santa Maria de Regla has the architecture that is quite similar to the one in Paris- Notre Dam in terms of appearance, but the inside- wow, here comes the Light! The glass-staining make you literally dizzy of colors and lights! A genuine work of art! There is also a chance to attend an organ concert, which will connect you with the world beyond the imaginary.
This is possibly the best cathedral in Spain. The French influence is striking - brilliantly colored stained glass windows all around. Each and every side chapel offers something wonderful - sculpture or painted altar pieces. A genuine work of art.
This awesome buiding, along with the Cathedral of Burgos, are the two undisputed top stars of the Camino de Santiago. Its stainless glass windows are second to none.
Possibly Leon's biggest attraction and once inside it is easy to see why with the huge stained glass windows throwing light in all directions, lighting up the huge arched ceilings. Well worth a visit.
What can I say? It's beautiful, and a place not to be missed. I had always wanted to go to Leon, and so this was a natural place to explore.
A beautiful building and the audio-guide was one of the best I've come across. I'm a bit of a cathedral freak, although my wife isn't - she thought it great too!
Without any electricity! Beautiful stained glass windows throughout the cathedral like nowhere else we have been. We were fortunate to be in Leon for a few days as the first day we tried to walk in, there was a wedding. That has been mentioned before by prior travelers. We experienced the same but were fortunate to go the next day. If you are not on a guided tour, get the audio guide. It's admittedly confusing but helpful. What they really need are signs with numbers.
