This area is beautiful and is so worth the drive from Santiago de Compostela if you are not walking here as a Pilgrim. You are able to go right to the water's edge and walk on huge boulders for even better vantage points. The setting is amazing for the church that sits at the edge of the world. Last year, it was hit by lighting and the roof and interior destroyed by fire. Such a shame. Am hopeful they will re-build. Incredible pictures and nice walks to be had out here.

This was the last stop on our adventure along the Costa de Morte - and it's definitely worth visiting. It's a naturally wild and beautiful spot (I liked it better than Finisterre). Interesting history and lots of stories and legends. This place also seems prone to disasters (ship wrecks, the oil spill, and now the church being struck by lightning last December) which gives it an eerie and mysterious feeling. Walk up the hill behind the church for a beautiful view of the coastline.

Regretably, on May 2014, the church was closed, going repairs of damages caused by a recent storm that affected it. The Santuario da Virxe da Barca has a long tradition for seamen and residents of Costa da Morte. Worshipping activities in the site goes back to the Celts and the first Christians. This was the last place to visit for pilgrims in Finisterrae after completing the Camino de Santiago. The first hermitage was buit around the XII century and rebuilt as it is in the XVIII century. The legend also tells about three big stones (Abalar, Cadrís and Timón) in the form of a sail, hull and rudder, belonging to an alleged stone vessel in which the Virgin Mary arrived to this spot to encourage apostle Santiago to christianize this land. This stones are said to have curative properties for arthritis and kidney problems.Also the small lighthouse of Muxia (one of the important in Costa da Morte) is located in this place.This is a place that worth a visit in you are around Costa da Morte.

El enclave natural impresionante. Bate el mar a los pies de la iglesia.Lo peor, lo de siempre, basura tirada. Papeleras vacías, suelos sucios, siempre en España.

Tuvimos mucha suerte con el día ya que estaba espectacular y la panorámica es preciosa.Totalmente reconstruido tras el incendio que había sufrido, el santuario no pudimos visitarnos por dentro ya que cuando estuvimos estaba cerrado. Pero todo el entorno es precioso.

작년에 산티아고 순례길 이후에 갔었는데요. 바닷가에 면한 성당이 인상적이었어요. 성당 앞에 기암괴석들도 멋있고 주변 공원도 산책하기 좋았습니다. 무히야 해변도 작긴 하지만 놀기 좋구요.조용한 바닷가 마을에서 쉬기 좋았었습니다.

Me encanto las vistas desde la barquita que sujeta la virgen en su mano ,que preciosidad!!!me gusto todo esas playas ,tan limpias Y el verdor del los campos

Sitio genial. Vistas preciosas. Una puesta de sol espectacular. Sitio tranquilo, perfecto para aparcar un poco lejos y caminar a la vera de la costa

Sitio muy bien cuidado. Cuando hemos ido la capilla había ardido y estaba rehabilitándose, Sin embargo lo mejor del lugar son las vistas y ver el mar rompiendo en las rocas. Dispone de un sendero desde el cual se accede a un alto desde donde se contempla todo el pueblo y desde el cual se aprecian unas vistas espectaculares de todo el paraje.

No perdérselo. Es un lugar precioso. El santuario y el mar a escasos metros. Puesta de sol ☀ para no olvidar.

La iglesia es muy bonita, pero creo que llama más la atención el mar, definitivamente es el sitio ideal para que un pintor se inspire para su próxima obra. Los atardeceres son bellos, basta permanecer un buen rato para ver una buena puesta de sol.

es un santuario junto al oceano donde las olas rompen con fuerza con unas vistas inmejorables da gusto pasear por los alrededores, no pudimos visitarla por dentro por que estaba cerrada pero ya estaba restaurada.

El santuario esta en un lugar privilegiado pagado al mar en un lugar mitico con todas esas rocas donde rompe el mar con fuerza sobre todo en estas fechas.

Tuve la mala suerte de visitar Muxía durante la rehabilitación del santuario, porque se había incendiado meses atrás, y no pudimos entrar a verlo. Pero lo que merece la pena realmente es el paseo hasta el santuario y las vistas que hay desde allí (del mar y del pueblo). Encantador.

Un santuario precioso al lado del océano. Actualmente está en restauración (casi finalizada), pero aún así merece la pena visitarlo
