A hidden gem in Laguardia! The church is only open a few hours a day, so make sure you check with your hotel or the local tourist office for information about opening times,

We took a guided tour of this church and were surprised by its grand features. The portico is painted stone and dates to the 1400s. It was originally exposed to the weather but was eventually enclosed by a large addition to the church. What is amazing is that, outside of one repainting in the 1600s, it has never been restored and it looks good. The other highlight is the altarpiece.

I must admit, from the outside I wasn't expecting much. After seeing so many beautiful churches in Spain already, it's hard to get really excited about them. However, this one was a real surprise. The guide opened the outside door to the church and voila! there is 2nd set of doors (the portico) - an elaborate masterpiece carved and painted of wood - it's been well protected from the elements. The detail is very interesting. Once inside the main alter is also a magnificent piece. Looking around it it obvious of the different architecture styles within the church as well. Cool old baptismal font. If you are lucky enough to get inside, do go! only 3 euro.

You can only go inside the church if you are with a guide. It was hard to understand the guide as she did not speak English well & we could only follow along with the written info she gave us. The entrance before entering the church was quite spectacular!

This is the most beautiful Church I have ever visited . From the outside it looks just like any other church in Spain but when you go through the doors it it spectacular. Unfortunately the only tour we could get was in Spanish but you dident need an interpreter to tell you how wonderful this church is. A must see when In Laguardia

From the plain exterior of this church, one would never guess what the interior would look like. The carved wooden portico is its claim to fame and deservedly so. It is quite a work of art and craftsmanship. I was so surprised by how beautiful the interior was for a church in such a small town. The high altar is gorgeous and some of the side chapels are equally beautiful. It is worth the time and money to try to see it if your schedule allows. It isn't open all of the time, so you might need to work your schedule around it. The smaller church at the other end of town is worth a look, as well.

We had seen a lot of cathedrals that week, but the lady who led the tour was very entertaining and made the tour very enjoyable. It just so happened that she was also the person who gave us great information at the Laguardia TI!The town is thoroughly enjoyable and worth the time to explore.

Very comfortable town to walk thru. Nota at all congested and everything in walking distance. The church was interesting but, again after visiting a dozen churches that week...it was fine.

this church, in that little town, you never espect to see something like that, Spain is full of nice surprises, and this is one of them, it really is

If you are in La Guardia, don't miss the cathedral! The only way to visit it is to wait for the scheduled group guided tours, but it's worth!

Wonderfully preserved piece of sculptured art. Must do the guided tour in order to fully comprehend the magnificent content you're seeing.

The entry of this Church is really a must seen. The colours in its figures are remarkable. Also interesting to see is the interior, where you can see clearly the two eras of its construction.

Our tour was in Spanish, but they had an English brochure for us. The facade, protected inside the foyer, is beautiful.

La puerta estaba cerrada, así que no pudimos ver el famoso Frontal del Pórtico. Sólo la vimos por fuera
