Burt and his crew put on an outstanding event for 18 of our General Managers. They worked with us on a VERY tight schedule to make sure that everyone got in LOTS of seat time in a variety of fantastic cars. I definitely recommend Velocity for a unique, adrenaline-filled team-building experience.

This has got to be one of the most enjoyable experiences that I have had in my life. Where else can you get behind the wheel of a $185,000 sports car and go as fast as you want? This is actually the second time I have gone and it is even better the second time around. I felt a little less nervouse this time and it showed as my lap times came down quite a bit. Here is how the experience works, first you select which package you want based on which car you want to drive and how many laps you want. They are always getting new cars in so make sure you check the website to see whch cars they have. The standard package includes a 30 minute instuctional course and 5 laps in a supercar. The first two laps are with the instructor driving and they show you the correct lines to take in order to get the fastest lap. After the two laps they pull into the pit lane and swap seats with you and let you go as fast as you can handle in a $185,000 Ferrari for 3 laps over the 2 mile course. They will give you instructions as you drive through the course and this is very helpful as you will be nervous driving that fast in a $185,000 sports car. There are a couple of extras that I opted for that are well worth the money. The first thing that I opted for was the filming of my laps, they have a dash cam that records your laps and they will give you an SD card to take with you, I have shown the video of my laps to all of my friends and they all loved it. I can honestly say I am the only one of my friends to have driven a Ferrari around a track. The other extra that I opted for was the "hot laps" with Burt, their race car driver. He will take you out in the car that you did your laps in and show you how fast you can actually do the laps in the car. Burt took the supercar to it's extreme limits and I have never experienced anything like that in a car. I could not believe the speed in which we were taking the corners and I still remember being scared but having fun all at the same time. It was awesome! If you can't get both of the extras at least try to get one of them as they are both worth every penny. I did read a negative review about the Team at Velocity and I know that they recently moved into a new building and that may have been part of the lack of contact issue. I was just there in February and they have moved into their new building and I called and emailed Evan several times and he was always very responsive. I am not making excuses for the Velocity Team but it seems to me that the move may have been to blame. I highly recommend doing this at least once. Thanks to Team Velocity

There were many problems with this experience. First, as another reviewer noted, it was extremely difficult to contact Velocity. They did not return calls as they promised, and voicemail was often full. When I finally reached them, they did not offer drives on the optimal weekend for me, so I had to make a reservation for a less-than-ideal date. Second, when checking-in onsite, they asked if I wanted to purchase insurance for $69. I was shocked, because I assumed that the price of the experience SHOULD include insurance for the car. They said I would be personally responsible for any damage to the car. Not wanting to have to pay for a car worth over $100K, I got the insurance, but nowhere on the voucher or the Velocity web site was there any indication about the need to buy insurance. In fact, the voucher said "No additional payment beyond tax and gratuity, if applicable, is required."Third, I bought the voucher through TravelZoo, which said "5-lap driving experience", and the Velocity web site says "How the day will run: Velocity Motorsports offers 2 choices of exotic cars. Each package includes 30 minutes with an industry-leading instructor learning how to take your car to its limit, just like a professional driver. With the instructor in the passenger seat, you can drive your car around the state-of-the-art track at an optimum speed for the best performance. Mix and match all of your dream cars on a 5 lap basis." I'll come back to the "30 minutes with an industry-leading instructor", but nowhere do they indicate that 2 of the 5 laps will be with YOU in the back seat of a car with other customers as an instructor takes you on 2 "discovery" laps. That cuts your driving to 3 laps. What they also don't mention is that where you exit the track after your laps completely cuts out the long straightaway, so you actually only get about 2 and 3/4 laps of driving (and 1 & 3/4 laps discovery).Fourth, the "30 minutes with an industry-leading instructor" was a joke. All of the customers for that time-slot were crammed into a small space without enough chairs for everyone to sit down, and the instructor only covered the very bare basics. It only lasted about 15 minutes, but even that was a waste of time. The company should be upfront about these issues. It is in the middle of nowhere, and once I got there after 3.5 hours of driving from Nashville, I didn't really feel that I say "give me my money back" and turn around to go back home. If they had been honest about these things, I could have made an informed decision about whether or not to purchase the experience.

I bought a Groupon for driving exotics at AMP with this company. For nearly 2 weeks I called them to schedule my time on the track. I never received a return call and, at times, when I called I wasn't able to leave a voicemail. Even Groupon reached out to them and told me they would be contacting me in 3 days. 3 days came and went and no phone call or email. For those of you that made it out there, consider yourselves lucky. Maybe it was really someone from Velocity that posted. On the upside, I will say that the track at AMP looks REALLY fun. I guess I'll just have to buy my own toy to run around the track!

Only about a year old at this point, 3/3/2013, this is a well- designed track featuring challenging and memorable turns and dramatic elevation changes. This not a cruise around a high speed track, but a real road course experience. Did I look at the speedometer? Not a chance, I was too busy setting up for the next turn and working to get the line to hit the apex and accelerate out.A true team of professionals handled the instruction and were interested in seeing that each driver got the maximum enjoyment out of his experience. They are looking to add additional Marques from Aston Martin through McLaren in the coming year. Would I go again? My heart would want to even if physically I couldn't. A great experience even if it is only once in a lifetime. Thanks to Burt and Jeff you helped make a great memory.
