My son and I like to take a father son vacation this time of the year. My son is 14 going on 15 so he likes riding atv's and motor bikes. Being from the city we try to plan our trip around going somewhere we can ride. I stumbled upon Moto Mountain Park on the internet looking for a place we could go riding. I hit pay dirt. This place has excellent trails and beautiful scenery. They have rental equipment as well. We rented an Atv and a dirt bike. Oh by the way you rent the equipment all day. We rode from 10:30am to 5:00pm at a very responsible price. I had never ridden a dirt bike but I was willing to try because they had rented all the atv's for the day. So they only had a atv and a dirt bike left. The guide there was Awesome. He spent a lot of time and attention with all the guest. He gave my son and I lessons on how to ride the dirt bike. He made us feel comfortable. He had us ride around the parking area until we were comfortable with the equipment. He was very patient with us because I stalled the dirt bike millions of times and couldn't get it restarted. He would come restart it for me. My son got the atv stuck in the mud on one of the trails and he came and pulled him out. When we took a break he would hang out with us and make sure everyone was having a good time. There are several trails to ride. Each trail is unique with its own level of difficulty. In all we had an excellent time. We definitely will go back again. You can't beat it for the price, the trails, and the fun, it was a priceless trip for me and my son.
Had a great father-son outing with two other friends and thier boys. We all ride dirt bikes and this is a great place to do just that. Mainly trail riding, no "track" like some parks have so if you are looking to race or do serious jumps, etc. this may not be the place. The trails go on for miles and are all graded for technical difficulty. The staff there are great about recommending trails for your ability and will even take you through them. People were there with 4 wheelers, side-by-sides, dirt bikes, and just about anything off-road. The trails are all ONE WAY which is much safer but you do have to watch for people flying up behind you and trying to pass. With young kids we took our time and never felt in the way or like we were causing delays on the trails. There are so many miles of trails people do not really get backed up on top of each other since everyone is so spread out over a large area. The trails are well marked. The served lunch on-site the Sunday we were out there which was burgers and hot dogs. Not 4 star, but it hit the spot and was better than driving to the next town. We actually stayed on-site in one of the cabins and the kids LOVED it. Very nice cabin, roomy with 60" LCD TV, Blu Ray, huge shower, etc. We will definitely be back even though it's a pretty long drive for us. As the boys get more skillful on their bikes we can branch out into more difficult trails and really see more of the park.
While up in the Blue Ridge , Georgia area during the past 2012 Christmas holidays-- my wife, 20 yr. old son and 16 yr. old daughter all decided to try something a little out of the ordinary for excitement. We found an ATV rental company about 20 minutes south of our cabin. We booked a 4 hour session the day after Christmas --- pretty much had the whole mountain to ourselves. "TomCat" was our instructor-- he was very informative and thorough explaining all the safety concerns for my families first ATV outing. All 4 of us got to practice in the gravel parking lot for about 20 minutes before going out on the trails. We took turns riding double on the 2 ATVs we rented and had an absolute blast!! There are about 6 different trails of increasing difficulty . We stayed on the 3 easier trails --- yet still it was very challenging with alot of whoop de doos, water puddles and inclines. The trails are nice and wide-- and traffic flow only goes one way ---and is nothing but nice soft, muddy Georgia red clay--- expect to get dirty but laughing and grinning the whole time! Towards the end of our session my daughter felt comfortable enough to ride alone on the smaller 250cc ATV. I followed behind her on my 400cc and was amazed at how fast she was willing to go . I only wish I had one of those helmet mounted video cameras to record the moment!! Especially when she shot into an deeper than expected mini pond -- and got bogged down in the middle of it . All i could do was laugh has she sat surrounded in calf deep water and mud. I tried pushing her out but after about 15 minutes --- realized she was just sinking deeper--- thankfully "TomCat" came to the rescue on his own ATV and pulled her out. This was a wonderful experience that my family will always cherish!! Just remember to bring a change of clothes --- you will definately get dirty ---- but love every minute of it !!
