the smithgall arts center

The Smithgall family has been very good to Gainesville Ga. The Smithgall Arts Center is the old train depot reformed into a great venue for everything from arts shows, to concerts, to weddings. Perfect for most any event with good parking on site.

The pricing was awesome and so many different things to see and the curators are extremely knowledgeable.

I was here this past weekend for a wedding and it was beautiful! There was a gorgeous room filled with glass windows and that is where the wedding ceremony took place. When that was complete, everyone was ushered into the room next door for hors d'oeuvres and drinks while the initial room was set-up with tables for dinner service. Once that was complete, everyone was requested to come back in for dinner. The food was tasty (not sure if it was catered or not). There is lovely art work throughout. It is such a nice, intimate, cozy setting. The staff was friendly and everything was immaculate. Note: GPS took us to the wrong location. It dropped us next door to 2 Dogs (wish I had time to eat dinner there, it looks really cute) on Spring Street. The Smithgall Arts Center is the other direction on Spring (it is a one way street). It is located at the intersection of W. Academy and Spring Streets.
