They had rude people answering the phone for questions! The English lady would rather talk about people rudely than talk about the facts of the tour! This tour is clearly COMPLETELY about $$$$ and NOT for the fans! VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED! I went once around Easter and had an AMAZING time! I bought shirts and stuck around to ask a ton of questions. I brought a big party back the second time promising fun but it didn't love up to my expectations! Unfortunately they don't work there anymore! I won't return with more people!

This was a fun place to visit and hear about Morgan's apartment, the Cafe, Funeral Home & other locations they used in town for The Walking Dead. It really isn't "just" Morgan's place. Plus the info on other movies that were filmed there and some local history. This little town is trying its best to make itself grow, and if the little amount of $10 to do this tour helps. I am happy to give it. Well done Marlene... I hope they come back again to fill in the blanks" that Morgan left on the walls ;-)And the history of the town is also interesting to hear. The little movie house, the marble columns.... Best of luck to you there .

We were a little weary about the arrival process as seen on the Facebook page and recorded phone message, as a just show up tour. However, all worked out very well. Mayor Jim was the guide for the evening. Tour started off kind of slow with a lot of background and episode talk. But, it fit nicely in with the way the tour was treated. Lots of good information. Mayor Jim has really taken the time to understand the story setup and works it well into the locations on tour. Our kids had the looks on their faces that they were about to die from boredom :) but as soon as we got in the car they watched the clear episode on Netflix to find all the things the mayor pointed out and were so excited! Glad we came over to take the tour and it was well worth the trip. Great small town hospitality. Would recommend to take the tour.

At one time it was free and now the tour is $10pp; we went when it was free and saw the on-going work to recreate Morgan's apartment. Mayor Jim was our host and provided some insight. Personally based on what we saw for free does not justify paying now. If you are in the area stop by and take the tour or visit the town at your leisure minus the commentary.

We had an amazing time on the tour on May 9, 2014! We stopped in on our way to Atlanta for a family weekend. We went to Zombie Geeks and talked to Marlene. She was very nice and personable and told us that they offered a private tour and that she was available to take us, so we paid our fee and off we went. We enjoyed this tour tremendously. Marlene escorted us around the scenic little town and told us about different movies that had been filmed there as well as the locations that were used for the Walking Dead filming. We got caught in a downpour and Marlene kindly offered us HER umbrella to use to complete the tour. The gem of this tour was Morgan's apartment. We loved the attention to detail and the kid friendliness of the sign above the stairs. All around we had a great and memorable experience. Marlene, I hope we can come back sometime and stop by again. We had a blast.

I have been on this tour twice, once last year when it was free and once after they started charging. I have to say, the tour I got after they started charging was more informative, although I don't know if that's because Mayor Jim is the one who gave that tour or not. The first free tour, he was out of town so someone else gave it and it wasn't as good IMO. He's a pretty funny charismatic guy and also gave info about various other things that had been filmed there like dumb and dumber 2 and some film with Vince Vaughn coming out next year. The 2nd time I went was also the Season Five Premiere Party for TWD, which added to the fun. I would definitely recommend the tour to anyone who is a big fan of TWD like I am. Just make sure Mayor Jim is the one providing your tour commentary and not anyone else.

I would like to apologize on behalf of the tour. You were calling the Mayor of Grantville, who is indeed very busy and usually speaks to fans quite well. He may have mistaken you for someone harassing him. You do not need a reservation but that does not give an excuse. All I can do is say I am very sorry for this and hope you will consider coming back even if for a private tour. Rebecca located at Z is for Zombie @ 1 Main St would be happy to assist you!

Everyone was friendly and we saw so much more than we expected. There is a lot of walking but the scenery is beautiful.

We have a great person doing the private tours now her name is Rebecca and she owns Z is For Zombie. Before her the Mayor had to get anyone who could come and do them anytime someone called. She is much much more professional and we hope you can come back. Our scheduled tours are still given by the Mayor!!

Hi there, we went to the Grantville Walking Dead Tour - Saturday Nov 30, 2013. The tour we were told started at 6pm, however when we arrived at 5:45pm , we were informed they had tomite's at 5:30pm (hmmm). I think there were 3 people guiding the tour, however it was hard to tell for sure, as they were wearing plain clothes and could have been well informed fans of the "Walking Dead". A loader presentation would have been helpful, as it was hard to hear at times.Ultimately, because it was a free tour, I would recommend this. I like the initiative they are taking to promote this small town. They are genuinely nice people, and they are trying to breathe new life into their town. I do recommend going to Station 22 for a bite to eat before the tour and supporting the local business's when you come.
