this is such a beautiful garden to visit, lots of great plants, fun classes, and very easy to find off of Hwy 41.

Nice to have this garden in our city, adds charm and ambience. Love the unexpected location. Helpful volunteers. Enjoyed the sculptures, esp floating near the waterfall. Rose garden beautiful. Did not care for the inclusion of the spiritual flags; seemed jarring. Will visit again to see more.

I did not know this place even existed. We enjoyed strolling around the gardens on a beautiful fall day. We took our cameras and practiced our photography. Reasonable price, low key entertaining. Looks like it would be a good place for a wedding.

This was a lovely surprise, found courtesy of YELP when we were in the area for a visit to the Southern Museum. There are 32 acres of grounds planted with many many varieties of plants - flowers, trees, shrubs, etc. The rose garden was lovely. The biggest treat was the flower garden path where we encountered half a dozen types of butterflies and were treated to a visit by a young hummingbird. Bumble bees were abundant as well.Beautiful way to spend a leisurely hour or two. The walk is not long, there are many paths to choose from and they include a tea house (think covered porch without the house), carp pond, and numerous sculpures. There is also a bonsai house - large variety of bonsai, one is 300 years old, amazing to view and ponder the art that goes into the creations.

I have just recently been introduced to this beautiful hidden treasure. Just a short drive outside of Atlanta you can find this serene garden. The admission price was reasonable for the 13 acres of beautiful and unique plants. There are lots of benches to just sit and enjoy the sights around you. It was not crowded at all and was a great way to spend a Saturday with the family. There is a fun kiddie section where the little ones can dig in the dirt and make huge bubbles with the bubble wand bird baths. My favorite spot in the garden was the Bonsai collection. One of the trees is over 300 years old. If you're looking for a little relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of your buzy schedule, come and take a leisurely stroll through the gardens.

This is a lovely, surprisingly spacious garden in the midst of a modest subdivision. Give yourself plenty of time. It was not at all crowded when we went in the middle of the week on a summer afternoon, and we read every sign and enjoyed sitting next to the koi pond.

Tucked away oasis and gardens where you would least expect to find one. Very impressed by specimen peices. You must see this garden and old house. Perfect for small quaint weddings of family outing.

I didn't really expect too much, since Kennesaw is a small town, but I was very impressed. Beautiful place with friendly people. The gardens are very well kept, and they have a considerable variety. The bonsai garden alone is worth the price of admission; they have at least 25 different bonsai trees, including a 300-year-old one. The coniferous garden, the carnelia garden, the Japanese garden (with its own tea house overlooking a pond of coy and a small waterfall; terrific place to chill or to read), and the rose garden are all must-sees. Friendly people, terrific place. Depending on how much you love plants, I'd recommend 90 minutes to three hours. They have a vegetable garden with big bubble wands and dirt piles for kids, though kids may not be as excited about the main trails (maybe a mile and a half if you do every inch). Lots of sculptures, which didn't do very much for me, but nor do they detract from the garden at all. Remarkable place. Very worth the money, very much recommended. Shon's been mentioned in a few reviews, and he's a knowledgeable and friendly caretaker. They also have plants for sale, from single-digit-cost potted plants to three-digit bonsai trees. A very worthwhile venture.

This is worth the trip to view beautiful flowers and trees. They have the place organized into different species so more interesting to view them. The people there provide lots of gardening information that can help you if you like gardening. Even a garden area for children. Small entrance fee but it helps support them.

Having relatives or visitors in? Try something different and see the Smith-Gilbert Gardens in Kennesaw. We only recently learned about these gardens through Groupon, and what a find! The Gardens are minutes from the highway. Pack a picnic lunch and plan on about two hours of easy walking on well-maintained trails. They have a designated picnic area with tables, a relaxing water feature complete with a waterfall, dozens of sculptures, a conifer area, and the best of all - a huge perfectly cultivated Bonsai Garden unlike I have ever seen. Plan to be impressed.

My husband and I really enjoyed this little garden. It has such a pleasant feel. The staff (Shawn) was so helpful and knowledgeable. I hope to come back when everything is in full bloom.

When the flowers are out it is a very beautiful place to walk on the many winding paths. It has a Picnic area and does offer classes.

What a memorable afternoon it was spending our 53rd wedding anniversary touring that lovely garden, with it's nice, well labeled walking paths and interesting and varied sculpture! The only way it could have been improved was if there had been a little coffee shop. After several hours, we would have liked to have had a little place to get "refreshed".

My spouse and I visited early one morning. It was wonderful. I loved seeing all the conifer specimens, the roses, and camelias. but probably the best thing is just learning what will grow in the shade in Northwest Georgia. Some of the plants here are incredibly large and old and others have been planted in the last few years. They label each plant with the year it was planted. At the end of our trip, my husband signed up to volunteer.

This is a not a very large but interesting garden and recommended to all outdoor lovers if you are around Kennesaw area ! There is an entry fee.
