Do please come and visit... Newnan is a GREAT place to visit. THIS has become my new Atlanta get-away for weekends trips with the family.
Went to see a production of Shrek with the lead played excellently by Skylar Skelton. First performance of that week and it was a great production and the cast were first class . Seating is wonderful and stage is big enough .
Nice place to watch performances. They have plays, both high school and local theater groups, and frequently have musical groups come in.Plenty of bathrooms, seats aren't the best but they are good enough. No food and drink allowed, however.
This is a beautiful building built mainly for school plays but it also is used for larger scale productions. Very comfortable, not a bad seat in the house. Free parking and easy access in and out as well as close to dining options.
This is an anomaly for a small town. It is like being in Buckhead. The parking is free and facility is so well designed and laid out it makes it like an evening with the Boston Pops or The Kennedy Center. Actually. It is a grand experience and cost less. Several people have put their heart and soul into making this facility possible. Thank you. Don't miss out on an evening at the TheCentre.
The Centre brings world class performances and arts to the citizens of Newnan and the south side of Atlanta. Performances by the Vienna Boys Choir, the Presidents Own Marine Band, as well as works by painters like Picasso are not unusual. Many of the performances are free or for as little as $10 - $15. The Centre is well worth a visit for anyone in the Atlanta area or visitors.
This is used especially by the local school system for plays, field trips, etc. While there are other events there, have not been there for something other than a school function. Like any other venue, there are costs for non-school events
This center is owned and operated by the Coweta County Board of Education and has some of the finest shows you can find for a local venue
This place is a well kept secret! Visited last Sunday to listen to New Orleans' Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Music was terrific and theater is one of the best we've been to in years. Theater seats are very comfortable and the sound system is fantastic. While there we also took advantage of work from a local artist which was on display. Upcoming venue's include the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Marine Corp Band. If you are in the area it's worth checking this place out.
Can't say enough about the Director, Don Nixon, and the steering committee for their dedication to bring visual and performing arts to a small community (small versus the urban environment we came from). We've attended art exhibits, bluegrass concerts, piano recitals, Chinese Acrobats, drama, and the list could go on. The facility itself is very inviting; the setting is lovely, parking is readily available; prices are reasonable (sometimes free); and we've never attended an event which disappointed us.
State of the art facilities with great parking, big talents and interesting art exhibits.
