pine mountain trail

Another trip to Pine Mountain for a wonderful day of hiking. This trail is a 22 mile linear trail with multiple loops ranging for 1 1/2 hours to 2 days depending on how spunky you feel. You will need to purchase a parking pass required in all Ga. state parks or you can get an annual pass for return visits which we have. Pick up a map at the park office about 1.5 miles north of the southern most entry to the park (by the Callaway Gardens Country store). The drive along the ridge top is nice. To the east is the valley with very scenic views and no pass needed if you don't park/stop. To the west is a view of Callaway Gardens, a world renowned natural getaway with great golf, beaches, and gardens. I usually hit the trail at least every other weekend and always feel great after leaving. Tired but great. Don't pass up this great local opportunity to get back to nature.PS: Don't forget to take a picture at "the great pine tree" at sawmill campsite located on the wolfden loop (North end).
