12 spies vineyards and farm

This is a 'start-up' winery that has produced a very fine product. They are doing things the right way by concentrating on purely wine made from the grape itself. The Traminette (one of our favorites) tasted and SMELLED like Traminette. They had some blends which were also very tasty. They charge a modest tasting fee. The selection of wines runs the spectrum of sweet to dry. They are only open Friday thru Sunday, but if you get the chance, by all means drop in! I'm pretty sure that you won't be disappointed.

Recently I drove a group of ladies from the Valdosta area to the wineries in the N. Georgia and North Carolina area.They really likes the gift shop area, the wines and the Ladies serving that day.

Visited this twice over the Thanksgiving holiday - yes, it was THAT good! Lisa took care of us both times and my only wish is that I lived closer to be able to have quick access to those lovely wines and to spend more time with Lisa. What a delight she is! And the winery doggies are the best ever. 12 Spies' back terrace is one of the nicest I've seen and I'm a pro at sitting on the winery terrace, sipping a good "rocking chair" wine on a nice day! The view from there is magnificent and secluded. They also have lovely gift selections that support several local artisans. (They also have an organ in the bathroom!! How cool is that?) Please stop by whenever you can!!

We visted 3 wineries in the area and liked the people and the wines at this location by far the best. We should have visited here first since we were only prepared to bring home 12 bottles on the flight. We would have bought more here.

The wine tasting was great and the service was exceptional. We were surprised to have local entertainment while enjoying wine. The choices were wonderful, and our group took a lot home for the holidays.

My husband and I are fortunate to be able to visit Rabun county often, and we enjoy each visit at 12 Spies Vineyards! Friends and I have taken picnic lunches here, too. We've also been there for the yearly Blessing of the Vines. It's just a great place!

12 Spies is the best Vineyard in Rabun County. The location is perfect and relaxing with beautiful vistas!

After a disappointing lunch at the Dillard House, I am so glad we went a little further down the road to the 12 Spies Vineyard. What spectacular mountain views - I could have sat there all afternoon. They have a lovely covered veranda and additional lawn chairs around a firepit. The staff were very friendly and helpful during the wine tasting. We took home a bottle of the "Bless Your Heart" Muscadine - very tasty. They also had other cute items in their tasting room/gift shop. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and they were very busy - we had to wait for seats around the tasting bar but it was well worth it.

Nice, friendly staff, good wine, nice gift shop, great view. Be sure to visit the restroom - they have converted and old organ into the sink!

Beautiful, lovely setting! Very convenient location before or after eating at The Dillard House. We actually went for the raw mountain honey but also brought home some delicious Muscadine wine and an couple of other gift shop trinkets. We are not wine connoisseurs, so cannot comment intelligently about selection and this is our first visit to a winery so keep that in mind when reading this review, however, with that disclaimer, we very much enjoyed our visit to this extremely lovely place!

Stopped in to explore the vineyard and enjoy the tastings. Met some really nice people and one cool dog! Well be back soon!

Wow! 12 Spies new Viognier is wonderful good music and a spectacular view made it a perfect afternoon. I highly recommend you visit when in north Georgia or western NC!

We stayed at the Dillard House so this was right down the road.Mike and his wife were so friendly and even their dog came up to greet us We tried many wines and bought about 6 bottles. One great thing about this place is the bathroom, the sink is made out of an old player piano.The wines are very good .We will be back again next time we are up there !!!

Would rate in the fist tier of Georgia Wineries! Very informative and excellent wines. Will definitely be back to buy more wines.
