The folks here are AMAZING! Hans the owner is super nice. Cody the tandem instructor is top notch and Brianna at the manifest desk will get you checked in and ready to go. V their video guy is a pro. The regulars are a great bunch of folks as well. Overall an enjoyable experience. I'm definitely coming back!
What an awesome place and had a great time! Book your jump as early in the day as possible so if there's clouds, you're the first in line to jump when it clears up. Super friendly people, fun atmosphere, and staff who are keyed in on safety.
I did tandem skydiving in the spring and broke by right ankle and right leg. There is "no" safety instruction prior to diving...no video to watch, no enactments of jumping or landing....pre-dive "get ready" was 5 minutes at best. I was told to remember three (3) things - 1) "when I pat your right shoulders take your fingers out the holders on each shoulder, 2) relax and have fun, 3) listen to me and only me. NO landing instructions were given. I would have sued but I was a total idiot to sign complete and extensive release documents and an even bigger idiot not INSIST on clear training prior to jumping out of a plane. It could have been MUCH worse. A jumper jumped at Skydive the Farm today and died. When I went to the hospital, they commented "oh the first one of the season...we see these all the time from Skydive the Farm." When I went to get fitted for my walking boot the woman at the orthopedic store commented, "we see breaks from there ALL the time. They are dangerous."PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE. DO NOT USE SKYDIVE THE FARM FOR YOU SKYDIVING EXPERIENCE. YOU ARE LITERALLY TAKING YOUR LIFE IN YOUR OWN HANDS.
This place is awesome. I had previously jumped 2 tandems and had always wanted to get my solo license. I chose STF because of it's value and the fact that they had somewhere for me to stay free of charge as long as I needed. I'm Australian and only here for a short time and straight away I felt part of the crew here. It's laid back but also geared towards safety. People here are real and approach you with a relaxed nature. I like that. Can't fault this place. Thanks heaps.
I went to Skydive the Farm for my first skydive. It was probably the most daring and scariest thing I have ever done.I had a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend this to others. The staff are so friendly and funny.Everyone loves what they do.My instructor(Davidek) was awesome. He was professional and did his best to make sure that I had an amazing experience. If you're in Georgia, check out this amazing skydive farm.
My Grandson graduated from high school this summer and started at Georgia Tech last month. To celebrate these two events, we decided to go skydiving and after some research, Skydive the Farm, was the hands down place to do it.Turner was my instructor and Andy was our videographer. Both are top notch at what they do. At 71, I was probably the oldest guy exiting a perfectly good airplane that day, yet both Andy and Turner made me comfortable and welcome.Instruction and interviews were focused and very clear. Before I knew it, we had boarded the plane, finished strapping up,the green light came on over the jump door and out we went. That first step is a big one and then things got real fast, real quick. We jumped out at just below 15k feet. Our top freefall speed was 180mph, but it did not seem it at the time. My ears popped a bit.As soon as we went under canopy, Turner and I could talk and the descent from that point on was incredible. What a thrill. I only wished I had started this earlier in life.I was ecstatic and let Turner know how much he had done to make this event pretty cool. Some closing thoughts... I will be back for another jump and want Andy and Turner with me again. Hope my grandson can come again as well. Tell your instructor how much you enjoyed the trip...if you did. Your feedback makes their dayTip these folks...remember, for a short period of time, your life is totally in their hands and their skill and concern for your safety is paramount. All in all, not a bad day for an old Marine on a beautiful July afternoon in Rockmart, GeorgiaSkydive the Farm!!Semper Fidelis,Dave St John
Arriving early is a definite must. Dont park near the front entrance or you'll get blocked in! After signing in you'll get assigned a jump coach and be strapped in and all you've gotta do is sit on the plane and close your eyes. Be prepared to experience a great time. Beautiful skies and an awesome jump coach made the experience great! Eating before is not recommended. Now for the bad part. The customer service over the phone is great when they're taking your money. Once you arrive at the shack it's a different story. NOT ALL but some of the staff are real A Holes. sarcastic jokes, coupled with a nonchalant(spelling) attitude ruined our time here. We asked a staff member to move his vehicle because he was blocking us in, 1&1/2 hours later and we are still waiting.
We were in Atlanta for a few days to do some scuba diving and catch a UFC event, so in the meantime we decided to go jump out of a plane. A friend recommended Skydive The Farm and it couldn't have gone any better. We called ahead by a couple hours unsure if the clouds would clear, they put us on the list and we arrived around 2:00 pm. The sky cleared up a good bit and coincidentally it was a value weekend which knocked about $20 off the price of a typical Tandem. We arrived, filled out some paper work, paid, met with our instructors and were suited up over the course of about 35 minutes, were on the bus within 45 minutes of arrival and in the air within the hour. I'm told this was unusually fast (and it definitely seemed that way), but I have nothing to compare it against. Everybody there was extremely laid back and cool, doing their best to put any nerves at ease. Being my first jump (I was nervous as hell, but now I'm hooked) I wasn't sure how I'd react so I didn't pay for a video, my buddy did, however, and it turned out great. The package contains both your video DVD and a DVD of still photos. The camera guy did a great job. An awesome experience all around, I highly recommend these guys.
These guys are nuts! But good at what they do.... friendly, knowledgeable and fun.
I've wasted 2 Saturdays attempting to tandem dive with STF. On both occasions my party called ahead to make sure we would be diving at our 1PM appointment time, were told that we would be and then were made to wait all day in a hot hangar while regulars jumped repeatedly. The staff as well as the owner, Hans, were surprisingly short tempered and rude and seemed unconcerned that they had wasted 2 days of our lives on the off chance that they'd run enough loads to eventually accommodate our group. It's taken me 6 weeks to receive a refund of $100 for the jump although I've spent more than that on gas and food (which is poor and overpriced although that's what you should expect when you're held captive by their "we'll put you on the next load but you need to be here when we make the announcement" gimmick). Since my experience I've discovered STF's less-than-impressive safety record and am glad that I've since jumped (on time and on the first try without anyone being terribly rude to me) at other Atlanta area DZs.
I went to stf yesterday and it has been the best thing I have experienced and I am going back next month. the guy below me is just trying to get something for free so don't listen to him. This has been the best ever ask for Mike D he is the best random master an sky Dave is the best video guy there hope y'all enjoy
We took our 18 yr old son here, he has wanted to skydive for years and talked about it a lot. So, after some investigation we chose this location as his first tandem jump.. WOW Staff was very friendly, helpful and lots of fun!! THANK YOU for making this nerve racking experience, smooth and easy. Will return next year when another son turns 18!!
I don't know what to say, really! I have done a ton of zip-lines along other extreme activities and was looking for something else to top my experiences so far. That's when I decided to skydive. After researching the internet, I chose to have my first tandem jump at Skydive the Farm. After jumping on 10/18, I can say that this was one solid and sound decision! I was greeted by the staff from the moment I arrived and shown where to go, what paperwork needed to be completed and where other various facilities were and I was repeatedly told to "make yourself at home" while I was there. All the contacts I had were professional and courteous at all times, while the overall atmosphere was laid-back, relaxed and fun. After waiting a short while on other tandems to arrive, we watched a quick safety video and I met my tandem instructor, Jeremy. Once the video had hit the high points, it was off to get suited up. My instructor advised me of all the procedures while on the dive, from entry to the aircraft, to exit, during free-fall and then landing and always ask me if I had any questions for him. Now in case you are wondering, the dive was a success! I had a lot of fun will definitely choose (and recommend to friends) Skydive The Farm for future skydiving adventures. If you have not tried this before and are thinking about it now, choose STF to make your first jump. To the team at Skydive The Farm:Thanks for a great adventure and stay safe. I will see you guys again soon.take care,Adam
