Fun for kids who have never experienced a drive in theater. Best part is no noisy speaker to put in Your car....just tune your radio to designated station.
This is a small retro drive in. Grassy and terraced. The screen is old, but the show looks just fine. The people who run it are very cool. We had a blast. And the cheeseburgers are delicious!!
My husband and I make the trip up to Tiger just for the drive in at least once a year. Even though the prices have increased to $10/pp it is still a great deal on Friday and Saturday nights when a double feature movie is shown. The atmosphere is extremely laid back and friendly, although I would encourage bringing some snacks or dinner in from outside because their "Snack Shack" can be quite pricey. It is a great place for families with plenty of frisbees to borrow from the "Snack Shack" and a playground down below the movie screen for before the movie begins.
The Tiger Drive In is a taste of the early 70s. (Not a taste of any earlier decade as the sound is transmitted to you car by radio.) The movies are current, first run flix and the prices are excellent. My only down check is that my wife, daughters, and granddaughters complain about the long lines for the ladies room. We haven't been yet this year, so this may be already fixed. The popcorn is wonderful, but the drink selection is a bit heavy on caffeine. Because of this, we bring our own beverages as we do not want the grand-kids bouncing off the walls all night. Since you can't have everything, I would not count this against Tiger. I highly recommend that you go with your wife, girlfriend, kids, grand-kids, dogs, or whatever as long as they are well behaved. Wives do have a tendency to act up.
We visited the Tiger Drive Inn and it was great! It had probably been thirty years since we to a drive inn. There was a double feature, Blended and Godzilla. Both the picture quality and the sound were both excellent
Twilight is falling on another warm summer night. What to do that will make the evening memorable? Pack the kids in the car and head to the Tiger Drive In! There are so few drive ins left and this one is a gem!I had not been to a drive in for many years before going to Tiger. Seriously, I had no idea they had done away with the speakers that hang on the windows and that the sound now comes into the car speakers from a radio station (or something technologically advanced like that....). We backed the car up in the parking spot, got out the comfortable folding chairs and watched a really good movie under the stars. All in all, an experience every family should have.Making memories one warm evening at a time here in the mountains.
We don't live in the area so have only been there once but it was great - reminds me of my dating days but this time was with long-time hubby and a group of friends so it kind of broke the mood if you know what I mean! The concession stand was well done but we didn't enjoy the particular movie which was highly received by millions - something wrong with us I guess - it was Pirates of the Carribbean! Go figure.
My family and I are frequent visitors here!. We love the family atmosphere. We get there early and let the kids play before the movie. Then we can settle in and watch a movie. Perfect for little ones or even date nights. My husband and I love the snuggle under the stars and watch a movie together as well. Wonderful owners and all around fun!
We have been here several times, and we love it just as much as the kids do! The drive-in is for all ages, and have movies to offer for all ages. Tiger drive-in post its movies on their website and their facebook page. We invited our friends and their kids a few weeks ago, and the kids laid blankets down and put their chairs out and had such a good time. You can bring your own food & drinks, or there is a snack bar where you can get everything from a Philly steak & cheese to nachos or skittles. They always have double features too which is a great deal! There is a lot of parking room. The only downside to this place is the bathrooms which need a MAJOR overhaul! Overall we love this place and will be back time and time again!
I took my family to see a movie in fathers day. My wife and I had not been to a drive-in in years and our son had never been. I got to the booth to pay and the man gave me money back! Dads are free today he said. We had a blast although our son could not understand how it worked. LOL. We got a funnel cake and some popcorn and tossed the frisbee. All the other folks there were having a blast also. I would recommend if your ever in the area in the summer time go see a movie.
We love this place. The owners/employees are friendly, the prices are fair and it is good clean fun for my family and friends. We visit as often as we can and everyone who comes with us for the first time loves it too. The playground is basic, so bring lawn games if you arrive early and have children in your party. Long live the Tiger drive in!
If you are in the Rabun Gap, Clayton GA vicinity then enjoy a trip back in time. This is the first drive in I've been to in years and went at the suggestion of my daughter. We loaded up our vehicle with some snacks and family dog, input the address in our GPS and headed to Tiger. The drive in is small compared to the ones of the drive in hey day and quaint - sitting opposite a corn field. Upon entering, the attendant took our money (cash only) and told us that our dog was free. He did provide a small bag in case our pooch had to call on nature. After finding a parking spot we unfolded our chairs and then played frisbee. If you don't have a frisbee the snack bar will sell you one for I believe 2 dollars. We did take advantage of the snack bar for dinner - I had a slice of pizza which was good and my daughter had chicken fingers. It wasn't bad for snack bar food. The snack bar isn't state of the art but has all the basics including pop corn and drinks. It did have something a little different - funnel cakes. Watching the movie is an experience in itself because you are as comfortable as you are prepared to be. We brought our own chairs and sat outside. It got a little chilly once the sun went down and we were glad that we had some light blankets with us. We notice others around us sitting in the back of their SUVs with the tailgate open or in the back of pickup trucks. Sound is via FM transmission through your car stereo however they also play it over a loud speaker mounted on the snack bar. The screen that the films were projected on could probably use a little improvement and I would suggest something to block the mercury vapor lamps that are visible in the background at some businesses behind the screen. Overall though the evening was fun and I wish I had known about this place earlier. This is a great way to spend some time if you are camping at Blackrock Mountain or just passing through. I would definitely recommend.
