The fun starts at 7:00 PM. On Saturday night arrive by 6:15 PM to get a seat. Friday night is Acoustic Bluegrass and Gospel with a local flair. Saturday night is Amplified Country Music with the regular musicians and various guest musicians. You can dance if you like or just watch. Do not forget to buy bake goods and 50/50 raffel tickets at the table in the hall. This place is great family fun. The money raised helps keeps this tridition going. woodbineopry.com
A very fun place to take the family. Downhome fun. People come from all over to visit the Opry. Check it out at their web site.
Visited last week with a friend. It was free, fun and even had a thrift shop we enjoyed browsing in. Bought tickets to try to win goodies and the cash prize. Didn't win but it was fun!
As first time visitors from the South coast of England to Woodbine we were made wonderfully welcome both nights. We'd planned for the Friday (folk, gospel and bluegrass) but had such a great time we returned on Saturday for Country. The Friday night raffle was fantastic, luckily we didn't win the basket of eggplants as we were touring, but a great apple and almond cake.We danced with strangers on the Saturday night, and really enjoyed ourselves with local people simply having a good night out - just pure easy-going enjoyment. Anyone who does not love it hasn't got a soul! We drove up from Tampa - an easy journey then carried on our holiday into Alabama but could easily have gone back for another visit.
Great music and a good time. The price is free with a chance to purchase raffle tickets for cash and home-made goodies. The show is every Friday and Saturday nights at the old CCHS High School in Woodbine.
As a transplant from California / Seattle ~ I love to take my West Coast visitors to the Woodbine Oprey so they can experience the Backroads Southern culture at it finest. The Bluegrass on Friday night or Country on Saturday night is always such fun. The performers always make visitors feel welcome and show the good ol southern hospitality. This is a wonderful place to take your friends that visit from other parts of the country. I always tell them we are going to dinner and a show. We dine at Captain Stan's Smokehouse just a few blocks away and then go to the Woodbine Oprey for the show. Makes for a fun night on Georgia's backroads.
Enjoyed meeting the locals & talking to them. Was staying in the area overnight & wanted somewhere to hangout for the evening. Pleasant experience.
