old fort jackson

The fort is being restored beautifully. They have actors in Confederate uniform who are willing to pose for pictures along with dispensing facts about the fort.

Fort Jackson was cool to see as it was a site of a Civil War battle. From the top of the fort, you can see where the emplacements of Union troops were and imagine the layout of the battle. It's worth your trip down to see the Fort, but it is relatively small and only takes about an hour or two to see the documentary and walk through the fort.
