What a wonderful view into the days of old Atlanta gentry. The house was beautiful and the guides informative. We had wonderful lunch at the Coach House, with great service.

The house is a true southern mansion, with a large entry way and spiral stair case. Each room is opulent and decorated from floor to ceiling. I would go again in a second. Word of caution, all the employees there are in costume and WILL NOT break character. Kinda cool, but I was confused at first.

I'd live here. Totally. Easy to get to, in a fantastic neighborhood and the property is lovely, but I like that kind of thing. The house is a manageable size (not like the Biltmore) and the grounds are really lovely even in early Spring. How it sits off the round is FANTASTIC!!!!And apparently the Hunger Games movie (or one of those) recently filed a piece here. Neat! It'd be a fun family or Sunday date thing to do.

You may know it from the movies, but this beautiful house was also home to the Inman's, a well known Atlanta family. It is very well-preserved and makes for a nice couple of hours in midst of the Buckhead shopping district. The gardens are very peaceful and pleasant.

It was a cold day in Atlanta and we were just about the only people at the house. A 1930 creation and definitely over-the-top as far as decoration, plaster molding, woodwork and objets d'art. Oh my! The docents are in period costume and stay in character which was a fun experience. The displays are very well done and we certainly enjoyed it. The admission was included in the ticket I purchased at the History Center and so glad we did this. It is also very convenient to some nice restaurants and we stopped for lunch between the History Center and Swan House.

This is where my daughter had her bridal luncheon and it was fabulous. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious.

Lovely place to have lunch with the girls. Food was surprisingly well prepared. Lovely gift shop as well with unique offerings.

We had the opportunity to tour the house where the movie The Hunger Games, the very professional and knowledgeable guide to the history of the mansion and its use for the aforementioned movie was filmed. Later lunch at the restaurant and received a pleasing attention with a tasty and well prepared food. Grateful for the excellent time that we experienced.

We had an amazing visit to the Swan House. The house itself is incredible, beautifully furnished, and unlike most historic homes, they allow you to go further into the rooms. You don't have plexiglass between you and the room, there is only a low rope that lets you know the boundaries. We took our daughter here for her 12th birthday, some of the Hunger Games movies were filmed here and she was so excited to see the actual rooms they used. Our tour guide was Whitney, a wonderful young woman who was very knowledgeable and had a great personality, the docents dress and act the parts of the 1930's characters that lived and worked in the house. Whitney made our visit very memorable. My daughter says it was one of the best birthdays ever!

Some may be fooled by the location of the swan house. Its actually located behind a large museum and historical site. This museum sells tickets to tour this home along with the Margret Mitchell home and a few other Holmes. Be sure to clarify times and prices as staff may contradict themselves from the phone to in person. Otherwise the home and museum are worth the visit. There is a multitude of information and exhibits to see. A fun family day trip.

Swan House is located in the prestigious Buckhead neigborhood in Atlanta...down the street from the Governor's Mansion. The other homes in the area are tour worthy as well. The home and grounds are well maintained by the Atlanta History Center. The docents remain in character throughout the tour and are knowlegeable about the original builders of the home...the Inman family, cotton brokerage heirs. The interior of the home is beautiful and the furnishings are true to the historical time period. The foyer with the black and white floor and the staircase adds to the beauty of the home. There are two bedroms open on the second floor. Two other bedrooms are not open to the public. Be sure to visit the third floor which was a live in servants bedroom. Overall a very good history lesson and a peek into a time gone by in Atlanta.

Located in an exclusive neighborhood where all the homes are worthy of a tour... this one is beautiful just like the pictures. The car is in the back driveway, which is neat. The black and white floor and winding spiral staircase are stunning. Tour staff was very knowledgable. It was free today- so watch for other "Open House" events.

Great historical house to visit in Atlanta, Reminds me of Bayou Bend in Houston. Hunger Games used this as one of their film locations. A behind the scenes tour is available.

The home and grounds are beautiful - don't miss the terrific stepped fountain at one of the main entrances. I couldn't believe the wonderful multi-roomed kitchen, and the woodworking throughout the house was terrific. The guides were very helpful and personable as well.
