Kadie used to stand on the hill in front of the old Kinnett's Dairy location, now occupied by Best Buy. For decades she was a landmark, at what was pretty much the North entrance to Columbus, long before I-185 or Peachtree Mall were built. After the dairy closed, Katie was removed for some years before being returned to her original location. It is doubtful that newcomers or visitors will understand the significance of this icon, but for those who grew up in the Columbus area, she is a fond memory of a simpler time.

Many years ago Kinnett Dairies was where BestBuy is now. As a dairy they had a large cow statue as their mascot. When the land was sold to BestBuy, Kadie (KD-for Kinnett Dairies,) agreed to let Kadie stay in her original location. For a while there was a smaller cow statue, from the Kinnett Dairies downtown offices, set up there too. She was named BB, for BestBuy. She was damaged from people sitting on her to the point she had to be moved. Kadie is a favorite among all the Columbus children.

She is not much but a land mark that everyone knows in this area for a lot of years. She had a Calf but someone stole it and never brought it back. She now stands by the Best Buy but was the symbol for Meadow Gold Milk when the plant was there. Hope that Columbus never lets her go away.

What's left of the old Kinette farm is Kadie the Cow. It would have been nicer and more fun for the kids if they made that area into a museum or park, instead of leaving in the parking lot of the retail store Best Buy! .. strange...

We took our kids to see Kadie 30 years ago and its just as great today as it was then. Great memories to make w/ your kids or grandkids.

Before Best Buy, there was a dairy here. Kinnett Dairy - thus, "KD" or "Kadie", the cow. I toured it on a school field trip years ago. When the dairy went out of business, Columbus-ians fought to keep the beloved mascot, and her baby that once stood below her, in place. The baby cow was stolen a few years ago. But Kadie remains - a Columbus landmark. :)

I grew up in Columbus and Katie were great to see when you passed Her everyday. She Representing the hard working people that work for that company everyday. I move to South Dakota 6 years ago And we have a huge dinosaur that would take the place of Katie in Columbus. I miss home and Katie.

Oddly enough, this giant cow is in the Best Buy parking lot. If you happen to need some electronics, take a picture with this giant cow.

It just shows that there is not much to do here when a big replica of a cow is considered an attraction. That's all I have to say.

We stopped here to look for a geocache. How can you not love a giant cow!! We never knew this was here! Awesome!!

I don't really understand why it's right next to best buy. I wish someone would move it to a more scenic location, such as outside the Columbus Museum.Anyway, if you are in the area, be sure to stop and take a family photo posing with the cow.

Its something unusual to see. But once you see it. Its nothing special but a cow with horns. I did not know what the cow was called until now. Not worth a visit unless your going to Best Buy.

This explains alot about columbus ga.. the mascot is a male cow with udders. This is either purposefully done as a joke or people are just not noticing this error.

*words cannot express*Speechless. No really. I feel like it would be an injustice if I gave a speech right now.

I remember Katie (you misspelled it, not me!) the cow from the time I was very young. I attended Gentian Road Elementary School for a short time in 2nd grade, the Kinnett Dairy was where our milk came from. Katie is still a landmark for me; she brings back fond memories. I was glad they didn't remove her when the dairy closed.
