This is Albany, GA people. This is a dive bar. Its smokey, cheap, dirty, and exactly what you expect from it. The drinks are strong, the music loud, and the women are ugly as sin. What else did you expect from it?I would have given it 4 stars but the cover charge is definitely not necessary. Its Albany, GA, not Albany, NY.

i went to charley b's thinking that i was going to have a nice night out on the town at a local neighborhood bar in a small town...boy was i wrong. I was greeted at the door by a large ponytailed gentelman asking for my ID. I politely showed my card to him and paid him the 5 dollar entrance charge as he laughed at my ID picture. As I entered the bar I was almost choked to death by the thick cloud of cigarette (and god knows what else!) smoke that permeated the air. I looked around and noticed a vast array of people from all different socio-economical and ethnic backgrounds. I was in awe that there was at least one place in albany where african american, caucasian americans, and mexican americans could all sit side by side and have a beer without killing eachother. I approached the bar and ordered my bevarage of choice from a dishevelled looking bartender wearing a 1980's hair metal hairstyle and pair faded jeans. I took my drink and turned around to witness that what i had previously percieved to be people from all backgrounds coming together to sit around and have a good time was in reality just a massive drug deal. I saw african american cocaine dealers distributing their products to white bussinesmen and wanna be thugs. They even seemed to be distributing drugs to the young white females in exchange for sexual favors. The music was loud, unbearable and excruciatingly 'urban'...vile lyrics that I do not wish to repeat were being blasted over the speakers as young scantily clad women 'twerked' their cocaine feuled derrieres to and fro as large groups of men in pants sagging down below their bottoms gathered to salivate over them. a brave few even stepped onto the dancefloor to try and woo these young ladies into coming home with them to do god knows what. I promptly exited the horrid establishment without even finishing my cocktail. needless to say I will never go back and i'm a little embarrased to even admit that i stepped foot in such a place but I was so disgusted by my experience that I thought it was neccesary for me to relate my experience as a warning to the god people of this town. Unless you wish to contract a venereal disease, become indebted to a cocaine dealer, or join a gang I suggest you stay out of this so called "establishment!".
