trail horse adventures

We wanted to try horseback riding during our trip to Sedona. This company has the concession within the Dead Horse State Park in Cottonwood. We called the day before to make reservations. Our tour guide enjoyed being on the horses and he was very gracious to the two of us never-before-riders. The ride was slow and enjoyable. We walked on relatively level land and took two small excursions across a stream. I would recommend checking their website because we found a slow season discount on the tour we wanted to take. We paid $45 each with the discount, plus tax and a tip to our guide (plus state park admission fee). It was one of the highlights of our trip. Plan to spend more time at the state park. There is hiking, fishing, and picnicking.
