Sponsored by the Jerome Historical Society, the admission price is very reasonable, and the museum covers all sorts of historical remembrances of Jerome. All of the displays are accompanied by a detailed description of the history of the country's ' largest ghost town'. They have a nice photo collection and small displays on things like mining, saloons and bordellos. The building itself is historic as it has served as a saloon, a drugstore, a dry goods store, a dime store, and now a museum and gift store. It is conveniently located and well worth the 45 minutes or so that it might take to explore it.

It really gave you a sense of the danger living in a copper mining town with fires regularly burning half the town down or buildings crashing and sliding down the mountain due to explosions in the mines. People lived a wild west type or life- Shootouts, brothels, plots to take over the mines, labor unrest and heroic lawmen and fire fighters to save the day. Today, of course it is artists and restaurants--the mile high café seemed to be doing great business the morning we were there.

Well worth the 2.00 admission, the history timeline of Jerome including artifacts and exhibits offer a great sense of understanding of the town and the people and industries that created this little town. It's a very small museum but is truly packed full of information about how mining shaped the town bringing brothels, saloons and other businesses plus an understanding of the hardships and the hard life of early Jerome.

I could have spent much more time reading and viewing the exhibit. They have letters written to family members when someone died in combat. The tone and structure of the letters from the commanding officers is heart wrenching. There are written jury verdicts from different trials including when the sheriff of Jerome was tried for shooting an outlaw. There is a great exhibit about prostitution in Jerome. Really gives you sense of what life was like then. Oh and of course there is a lot of information about the mine and mining operation of Jerome.

One of the folks at Passion Cellars told us to drive to the Museum and wander around the machinery and look down the 1900 ft mine shaft. Very cool.We just weren't in the mood for a full museum - so we enjoyed the free peek into history.

The items are very tied to the History of the Mining….Lots of people became rich back in the day.The History of the Town unfolds …a lot of resemblences to That of Mout Rushmore era

After spending time in Sedona we stumbled upon the historic copper mining town of Jerome, the largest ghost town of America. The steep drive up the mountain by car is not for the faint at heart. Once in Jerome unveiled is the old mining town with updated restaurants, lodging, shops and attractions. The shops are fun to visit for unique gifts and souvenirs and the outdoor haunted museum reached by dirt road is a must see attraction. Admission is $2 per adult and interesting to see the old buildings as they were back in the wild west days. The visit is worthwhile and a lot of fun learning the history of this famous ghost town. If you are lucky you might return home with a photo of a ghost in your snapshots.

We accidentally stumbled upon this museum, which is located inside a store. The museum is not very big but has so much information. You can spend a couple of hours here reading all the information and looking at everything. We found it interesting. My teenage son enjoyed reading the town history. There are so many subjects from medical, police, high school, mining and even on the brothel era. Interesting artifacts and art. The cost to enter the museum is $2 per person. We are glad we stopped by.

This was an old mining town. Underlining caused buildings to slide down the street. Women were few men were a lot so ladies of the evening worked hard. This is a town now of artisans and the view is spectacular. Well worth the time to travel to from Sedona and see how thing were years ago. People are friendly and it is a place from olden times. The shops are quaint and I enjoyed Nelly Bly for jewellery that is unique.

For only $2.00 a person, this little museum is well worth visiting. It's a great way to spend an hour and to learn quite a bit about the local history.

This small museum was a pleasant surprise. It tells the history of Jerome, once "the wickedest town in the West" from empty hillside, through the wild copper mining boom years, to its decline to ghost town after the mines closed and its phoenix-like re-emergence as today's offbeat tourist destination. The Historical Society have done a grand job of leavening the information-intense texts with imaginative illustrations, including many contemporary photos. The $2 admission ($1 seniors!) represents the best museum value I've encountered in the USA.

Well placed and interesting museum as you enter Jerome on the Daisy Mine site. Do not miss this and take the time to see it all.
