A great wine tasting in a neat little place with some great local goat cheeses. We bought a number of their wines and will definitely go back!! Has a "Boulder casual" ambience and feel with some real local characters to meet and talk to.
This was our first time at Hops & Vines. We go down to the Tastings about every year but had not visited here before. It was fun & the gal that helped us was delightful. It is only about 3 years old so not as well known as some of the other places. Anxious to get on the website as they have many very creative events & entertaining ideas.
The owners are awesome and the vibe there is exactly what I'm looking for. Laid back and funky is the tone there! Fluffer is absolutely the best!! I knew I would be buying a case of wine before I even walked in!!
We had a blast here. The music, the atmosphere, the fun-loving and outdoorsy, happy, upbeat energy made the tasting a blast. We really enjoyed this place a lot!!!
Great cozy place with a traditionally southwest feel to stop for a decent glass of wine. Try the local cheese plate - we had a lovely cheve that paired nicely with the Fluffer (a sparking Moscato....that didn't taste 'too Moscato'y). Kudos to the fun/friendly staff - tasting are paired with snacks (think Doritos and cheese puffs) to compliment the wine. Even with the kitsch, the wine was good and I could have just sunk in the cozy couches all day with a bottle of the Merci. It was a weird rainy day in January - can't wait to go check it out again when the weather is dry and sit outside.
A fun little winery on the main drag in Sonoita. Kind of a hybrid between a coffee shop and a tasting room. They pair all the wines with diffent flavored chips (Doritos, cheetos, potato) a bit odd, but fun. Wine was pretty good too, but a bit overpriced in my opinion.
As the title says, excellent laid-back southwest atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. Big wrap bar to sample wines with an offering of local goat cheese. The vibe is very friendly with courteous and knowledgeable ladies behind the counter. Worth a stop....
In spite of the friendly staff and fun atmosphere, I was not overly impressed with any of the wines available for tasting but enjoyed the snacks offered guests. Seems to be popular with young people and families.
THIS PLACE IS BOMB.COM ANYONE WHO SAYS DIFFERENTLY CAN EAT MY SHORTS(I'm just putting these emojis so I can have my 100 character minimum and submit this!!!)
I will start out by saying that I actually liked the wines at Charron Vineyards better than here, but nothing compares with the laid back, fun afternoon I spent here at Hops & Vines. It was such a beautiful afternoon that we wanted to sit outside. My husband is somewhat handicapped, and one of the visitors helped move some chairs under the shade for us. We ordered a cheese plate, and just enjoyed the ambience of a beautiful Arizona afternoon while I had my tastings. I did have to go inside to fetch my tastes, this was not a big deal for me. And how fun to pair the tastings with different snacks like cheetohs, Doritos, and chips! Once my tastings were done I ordered a glass of my favorite one and continued to just enjoy the surroundings. This is a family friendly vineyard. There are animals for the children to see, a tether ball, a swing, and bean bags. There were families who were sharing wine while their kids played and walked down to see the animals. The tasting room inside became crowded and the ladies were continuously friendly. The afternoon was a nice experience. When I'm in the area again, I will return here. Oh, if you don't need another tasting glass, bring your own along. The fee for the tastings is discounted if you bring your own.
This was the first winery we visited in the Sonoita area. All and all it wasn't bad, but like many of the wineries out there, visually its location was just kind of so so. The wine was great, the service was pretty good too, and we thought the paint class they had going on looked like s lot of fun. Overall, this winery was above average. It just needed to minor tweaks to make it a little better.
On our weekend wine trip, Hops and Vines was recommended to my husband and I as the place to start. When we got there at about 12pm on a Saturday afternoon, there was only one other group and they were outside. The bar inside was empty except for Rachel behind the bar. So glad it was just us! Rachel was a delight, telling us about the wines, the winery, herself, everything and anything. Stemless wine glasses for the tasting. Great, unique pairings with candy for Halloween, chips with spice or not, Doritos and Cheetos. Fun, unpretentious, and delicious we had a great time, just the 3 of us. Too soon, more couples and groups wandered in, we sat on the couch and enjoyed the view outside and the interesting artwork throughout. Don't miss the bathroom. Decided to buy a bottle of Imbibe and headed out. When we left the place was almost full. When we returned, after visiting some other local wineries, the place was packed!! Rachel was still there, along with someone else. We started another taster, but decided to have a glass and buy another bottle. Went outside to enjoy the sunset, many others there too. So casual, so comfortable, so fun! This was our favorite stop (although we enjoyed all the wineries we visited) we definitely want to visit again!
Tasting room attendant was quite friendly and personable. Wines were just OK, but we found the experience to be enjoyable.
I had spoken with Shannon a couple of times and also had the pleasure of doing some business with her over emails. Her contageous upbeat attitude made me want to jump in my truck and head over to see her....so My boyfriend Sean and I did just that. WOW!! The winery is nessled atop a little hill, surrounded by lush wild grass, grape vines and a beautiful view of majestic mountains. There are a couple small ponds and even things for the kids. We were so taken in by the friendly atmosphere and the attention that was payed to us. The goat cheese was Seans favorite but I think mine was just the idea that everyone was so friendly! They really made us fee like part of the family. We will be back again and again. We suggest this winery to everyone!Thank you Shannon & AZ Hops & VInes!! We wish you many many years of success!! SEE YOU SOON!!!Carmen MorrisonDeming, NM
This place is great...the wine is good and the atmosphere is laid back and kid friendly. They have farm animals to say hi to and tons of other activities (like cornhole). I look forward to visiting again.
