This place has been gaining importance from the last 2-3 years. Flickr and some pics inspired me to get this place and i booked tour through Antelope Canyon tours for upper antelope canyon. i did a photographers tour which was 80$ per person. take the tour around noon-ish time for the sum beams to penetrate the slot canyons. I went there during march but my tour guide said me that the sun beams and light goes through the canyon's during April so now i have to make another trip there for the Picture i visualized to be taken. my tour guide was Rick and he helped us to control the crowd and take some good pictures. He also had good knowledge about the setting to get the right color/contrast and lighting in the canyon. He pointed was to the spots - one of them was the heart of the canyon - amazing it was a 4 and half hours drive to this spot from Vegas and keep an eye on the time zones (day light savings) I was very confused with the time. Best thing to do is Google TIME in PAGE AZ - this falls under the Phoenix AZ time line
It was a long drive from Flagstaff but well worth it. The canyon is truly unique and awe inspiring. Amazing photographic opportunities - actually our guide used our camera to get lots of shots that clearly he knew would work. Toirs must be guided; there is no public access.
The only way you can view this is with a guide, which you should reserve well before you go. Believe me, it is worth the time and $$. It is one of the most photographed sights is the USA and one of the most beautiful. It will take 3 hours, including all the phases. the guides are knowledgeable and helpful, so tip them well - we owe them as we stole their continent. It is hard to describer the beauty without going, so go. And spend time viewing all the other incredible sights in the area. It will be crowded and it is a very narrow slot canyon, so be prepared. If you are claustrophobic, you may want to skip this one.
I never imagined the place is so good. Photographs paradise. Even though the cost is high, it is worth it. The guides know the spots to take the pictures.
Sensational! Unjustly not in the Premier League of the western natural monuments. It is a very narrow deep cutting (Slot Canyon) through mountains of colored rock sediments. Light comes from above, only, and paints amazing, wonderful lighting effects on the walls and in the air. I guess: You've never seen before something similar. The tours starts in Page, AZ, organised by the Navajo nation people. Use the Upper Antelope canyon, it is easier to access.
One of the most beautiful places in the world. We went with Adventurous Tours mile marker 302 and Kim our guide was the Best!
We went to the canyon, hadn't booked and took a local covered in vehicle tour for about 30US dollars each, much cheaper than tours booked via web. Enthusiastic tour guide. A little long but interesting walk.
This place is incredible! The idea of walking in a place like this that is formed by flash flooding didn't sound all that appealing at first. Once you do it though, you realize the majesty that such beauty possesses and you can't help but just breathe in each bit of it. We stopped here on a field study for Geology and we also had an anthropologist with us. It was spectacular to be able to experience it with these people and have them explain just how great it's importance is. I would suggest researching the site before you come so that you can appreciate it's significance. When your done, go check out horseshoe bend! It will blow your mind!
This place is beautiful. Well worth the time to visit. Our wonderful guide Lionel, helped us get the best pics. Highly recommend
