We were there between Christmas & NY. It was very cold, the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The course was in very good shape and it is a well laid out, challenging and scenic course. One of the best I've played in Arizona.
Fabulous course, we played Hill and Valley courses, scenery was amazing. Only downside was as a Texas scramble style golf tourney they made us play with par max rule which many did not enjoy.
This is a great place to eat -the restaurant is open to the public (at prices 25% higher than members pay). The brunch offerrings are good and not extremely pricey. Both the indoor and outdoor dining areas are attractive.
I always think of resort golf courses as being unusually fair to the casual golfer. I am that guy shooting 105 from the whites on a good day. This course, which includes three 9 hole layouts, is more of a target golf course requiring some long carries across desert and cactus to get to the greens. So the course(s), Canyon & Ridge, ate my lunch. Given that it was the middle of a hot summer, monsoonal rains left the course soft. The grounds crew has the course in immaculate condition with fairways mowed, greens rolled and pin placements fairly attackable. In lush conditions there wasn't much roll on the fairways after a decent drive and anywhere off the fairway was likely to suck up your ball. For the good golfer, this was a fair test. For the duffer like me, this was a challenge. In the end I compliment the staff for making it a good experience with plenty of water, good spacing on the course and "a beautiful walk spoiled", as Mark Twain would say. I enjoyed my round.
A real Nice golf course but way too much expensive compared to Ventana, Dove Mountain and Gallery golf...
Staff is excellent and helpful. Played on Friday and had a good time. Course is not an easy one - lot of terrain changes. Would not want to walk it.
This golf course is located in the foothills of the Catalina mountains. The views of the mountains and city are some of the best in Tucson. A great desert course for visitors to the Tucson area as well as a nice treat for locals. Well designed and maintained. One of my favorite golf courses in the Tucson area. It is challenging but who cares when it is so beautiful. Highly recommend as a place to bring visiting friends or family as well as for locals to enjoy
Excellent course that was reasonably challenging. Friendly staff added to the excellent condition of the course. if there was a negative it was the lack of cart path markings to get you to some of the tees..
Was staying at the resort and decided to play last minute. I am glad I did. Outstanding course. Its 27 hold course and played the Canyon 9 and Ridge 9. Canyon was truly an awe inspiring 9. Target golf to max. Massive drop offs. Extreme dog legs. Elevated greens. The course was in great shape and the staff was outstanding from the pro shop to starter.
Facility has three 9-hole courses - I played Canyons and Hills courses. Course was in good shape. Very challenging in some areas. Not much room for error.
If you an avid golfer like me, try it!! go in afternoon time for a cheaper fee and you wont be disappointed (unless you play really bad). Have fun and enjoy the course
I started after 2pm and almost completed all 18 before dark. Not very busy the weekday I was there. Easy to hit long drives and put. My golf cart was included. The course is in good condition. I saw wildlife, rabbits in the hillside, so cute.
A real challenge even on the Hill course. There are three nines of vary degrees of difficulty. I stay on the Hill course because I know it better
I took my family of 7 for a wonderful, but spendy brunch at the La Paloma Resort. It was a sinfully delicious repast, with a marvelous assortment of buffet choices, including carved meats, individually prepared egg dishes, wonderful pastries and lots of choice deserts. Everyone had a great time and were enthusiastic about the meal, which made it worth the expense, which was on the high end.
This is my fourth time enjoying this resort and in the past everything was excellent. This time however the greens were running very slow and the maintenance crew were more concerned with their work then being courteous to the golfers. In general the clubhouse crew and starters were attentive and helpful.
