I am always so wonderfully surprised when I go to the Reid Park Zoo at the great layout and proximity of the animals. This is a real treat for any animal lover. If you prefer not to spend much time at each exhibit, you could actually see the whole zoo in a little more than an hour. I think you would be pleasantly surprised how great this zoo is and, like me, will go back more than once.

I have made many trip ( 1993 -2014) to this zoo and have always had a great time, It is small so you get to see everything. The kids love the zoo. I can not wait to take my grandchildren.

I have been coming to Reid Park Zoo for over thirty years. We have begun bringing my 2 year old grandson, the forth generation of our family to come here! Reid Park Zoo is awesome. It has just enough to do to have a great time, and not enough to get bored. Nandi, the baby elephant is so adorable, and the new elephant habitat is nicely done. I love the recent addition of the grizzly bears, but did miss the polar bears. RPZ is a must go when visiting Tucson. You can easily do the whole zoo in 2 hrs, and the admission fee is awesome!!!

Although this zoo is not very large, they have a lot to see. If you go in the morning/early afternoon there is a chance you will see their baby elephant. We were fortunate to see her before she went off with the other elephants. If you get the chance, I would suggest you the Reid Park Zoo!

This is a really nice zoo. Located in the heart of Tucson's shopping area. Once done head on over to Broadway Rd The El Con Mall... There is Target, Ross, Shoe Carnival, J C Penny ( the only one in town ), Burlington Coat Factory, Wal Mart... and many food places. But now about the Zoo.Well maintained. Friendly, clean and for the small size a fun and entertaining place to spend some hours of fun for kids and family. You will enjoy and love being with the family on an outing. As always here in Tucson. Wear protecting gear.. hat and sunscreen. You can ride camels, feed giraffes and see the elephant baby. TOO cute of course.THe elephant sanctuary is amazing and will keep you occupied for a while. The elephants are really fun to watch. There are rhino's and a zebra, twin sisters black leopards and many other animals. Tigers, lions, monkeys, otters and so much more.Restaurant is clean , tasty food and really good atmosphere. Gift shop is fun and offers variety. Restrooms all throughout and really the zoo is very easy to walk through. Some shady spots and some sunny ones. Families flock to it at all times. Try to get there early for cooler weather but the animals are well taken care off and if you are a zoo lover or enjoy going there.. this is not the biggest zoo as far as space but a lot of fun and educational. People do love it there. If you happen to hit it during Halloween or Christmas you can perhaps decide to join in on the fun activities for the after zoo hours. The caretakers go out of their way. They decorate the zoo and during the day it looks amazing but at the after hour fun time it is a busy time with fun things to keep you entertained and busy. Awesome. Stroller parking no problem. Food available ... kiosks with snacks and ice cream plus drinks. Fun and a must during your visit in Tucson. You can spend an hour or 3... you will be happy.

Main thing I liked was that you can actually see the animals. You're not left wondering if it's behind that rock 400 ft away. I was most impressed with the elephants. This is a small zoo, so it's a nice fun thing to do for a couple hours, not a day long event. The animals seem well cared for and happy.

This is small enough that it isn't overwhelming to families with children and it takes under a half a day. Interesting programs, good small gift shop. Exhibits are well done. We have the added bonus right now of having a baby elephant that is absolutely charming running out and about during the morning hours most days -- a lot of us who live in Tucson find ourselves going back often to seeing how she is progressing.

We recently took our toddlers to Reid Park Zoo and all greatly enjoyed it. It's small enough not to be overwhelming, and you don't need to spend all day to feel like you've gotten your money's worth. We went on a relatively cool (68) but sunny day, and the animals were all very active. The enclosures were nicely done, as well.

I visited the Tucson Zoo with some friends last week. First visit in 35 years. It was just delightful. Of course the weather was perfect on that day which always helps an outdoors activity. It took about two hours to casually see all the animals. Really, really nice. All the enclosures were interesting, there was lots of water and shade everywhere. Many pregnant moms and toddlers added to festivity of the visit. I would go back in an instant.

Reid Park Zoo is growing and adding wonderful exhibits continually. The last time I was there I rode the camel.

in fact, we really took our time and read most all of the very informative signs regarding the animals as well as listened to the many Zoo employees talks about the animals and their habits and finished in just over two hours.Easy up and down trails through a beautifully landscaped property as similar to the different animal's native environment.Admission prices as well as food and water are reasonable, and parking is free.A really great way to spend part of a day for all ages.

I take my 6 and 3 year old every now and then and we always want to go back again. When we went last month we got to ride on a camel.

We took our granddaughter to this zoo while Mommy was in the hospital with the new baby sister. It was our first visit but she has been there regularly. Regardless...she was super excited and I saw why after a few minutes. The exhibits are close up and personal. We actually even fed the giraffes. The elephant enclosure is very open visually and the birds, otters and other animals were easy to see in their enclosures as well. We're use to much bigger zoos but learned that bigger doesn't necessarily mean better!

The diversity of animals in this zoo is always entertaining. The park is expansive and many people come there for morning and evening walks around the wide sidewalk around the entire perimeter. The location is convenient to a shopping mall directly across the street, and only a several minutes from downtown.I would recommend this zoo to my friends.

It is a very nice small Zoo you can see animals up close. Avoid the heat of the day as the animals will be sleeping and hidden away. Best towards sunset but it closes early. Or do it first thing in the morning. Great for all ages if you like animals.
