Bit of a thrill to be in the actual home of the famous Tombstone Epitaph. Informational displays interesting and well-worth checking out.
It's free and included with the OK Corral shoot-out. We liked reading about some historical events... if you like history, check this place out too.
If you went to the Gunfight at the OK Corral then you have received a ticket to get a copy of the newspaper on that historic day. Make time to go over and pick it up (around the corner from Crystal Palace Salon). Friendly, helpful lady behind the desk - quite interesting to see all the old presses.
Thus is a great place to visit if you love history, newspapers or the process of creating and reporting the news. While my husband and I enjoyed this site, it was not our kids, 9, 7 and 3 favorite place. NOT because it was poorly presented etc., it was just a place more for adults than children. I would love to go back and read everything!!
It is free to go into this small museum of frontier printing equipment. They sell lots of copies of old newspapers for a small fee. I enjoyed reading old newspaper accounts about issues of the period and of the history of the old west. This place is well worth the time of a visit.
I found this place absolutely fascinating……don't rise it and read through all the exhibits. What an exciting life the founder of the "Epitaph" lived….they should make a movie about him. Amazing.
This was a great experience in a historic town. I'm a history nut and everyone at the paper answered in a friendly manor. You should visit and don't forget to get a copy of the newspaper.
Great place to visit. Loved seeing all the old ways they printed newspapers. If you're in Tombstone, you must visit this place.
was so great to see how the papers where printed years ago. the lady was so helpful even though she had several customers.
If you're a reader and a history buff, you'll enjoy this bit of history. I found it interesting and fascinating. Couldn't even imagine how much time it actually took to produce a newspaper back then. One of the best FREE places to tour and check out. Our family enjoyed reading the history and learning about printing papers. Hope you enjoy it too.
The museum was small but contained a lot of old relics from printing in the late 19th century. Additionally, if you go to the gunfight at the OK Corral first, they will give you a card to trade in here for a free newspaper.
There it's a bit of history here and some of the souvenirs are a couple of $ cheaper. They have a few other historical newspapers for only a few dollars. Some cool t shirts also.
A very interesting museum (free) with a look into the old Tombstone. You can even subscribe to today's Epitaph published monthly with great articles on the past.
When you buy tickets for the OK Corral Museum and show they include a voucher for a free newspaper reporting on the shootout. It includes other interesting articles and advertisements of the period. It's certainly worth the visit. Seeing the old presses and the process of printing newspapers back in the 1880's is like taking a step back through time. The price is free so you have nothing to lose and so much (in knowledge) to gain.
The Epitaph has an uncanny feeling of being back in 19th century early 20th century. If you visit the OK Corral gift shop first, you'll be given a voucher to receive a free newspaper article of one of the famous cowboys. Great place to visit.
