A walk through this well-preserved cemetery hints at how hard life could be in this rough town. Not only did one run the risk of being lynched for crimes one did not commit, deaths from accidents, illness, and childbirth were not uncommon. Gravestones aren't original but provide fascinating, sometimes amusing reading

Boy, this was one of the best historical places I've seen. The cemetery has such a colorful past. For such a forlorn place, it comes with a bit of humor as well as some sad historical events, but well worth the trip.

This is where all the people from the old west are buried. Including Wild Bill and Calamity Jane. There is a lot of uphill walking so it is best to wear good shoes with a nonslip sole. Be prepared to spend a good 2 hours just wandering around the graves. There is 2 gifts shops just outside the cemetary.

Fortunately it was only a $3 donation for the site map for all of us. All the graves pretty much look the same with some cute headstones and a lot of Unknown ones. One of those places to say that you went there! Only takes about 15 minutes to get the main idea of the graveyard.

Another must see in Tombstone (why else are you there)! But, do make the $3 donation for the small pamphlet that identifies each of the graves with bits of info on people's demise (more than just the name and date that are on the headstones.)

Just another old graveyard with the majority of markers unknown .not much to see as markers are not old.

Cute to see the headstones. Not sure there are really people buried here or if they just use it as a tourist trap to sell souvenirs. It's free so if you visit Tombstone not too bad to see.

Second time that I went to this cemetery and it was still interesting. It shows how violent the town was. There are some "fun" grave markers that make for interesting reading. The interpretation and map that you can buy for $3 gives you more background about the people buried there. Good to spend 15 minutes on your way out of town.

What a great little piece of history about the people who resided and worked in Tombstone during the era of violence.

This graveyard is well maintained and very touristy. It was interesting for 15 minutes, but then I was done. Keep in mind that temperatures in Sourthern AZ are still hot late in the year.

Enjoyed the history of the lives of the people who once lived in Tombstone. So many died by being killed, hung, or by accidents. Boothill Graveyard reinforces the truth that life is fleeting.

New wooden tombstones with names engraved. Can purchase "for a donation" a guide to tell about some of the people. We thought it would be tombstones with lots of funny or interesting titles, not found.

Very cool site. The gravestones include the way the people met their demise, some include humorous rhymes. This is a neat look at the Wild West.

You remember from history, the shootout at the OK Corral...or perhaps you remember seeing a movie about Wyatt Earp and Doc Holiday. Now you find yourself at Boothill seeing the names of those who lived in the early American west and the hairs on the back of your neck stand up as name after name takes you back in history to those days. Yes, the grave markers have been updated, but we ARE talking about a hundred plus years ago. This is a great place to stop and check out! The staff is friendly and informative and there's no cost to walking out among the residents.

While visiting the sights at Tombstone, be sure to stop as you leave town at Boot Hill Cemetery. It is free to enter but a donation is appreciated. It is very interesting to read the epitaphs on the tomb stones (boards) and learn more about the history of the people that lived in Tombstone.
