It was a nice and cool with a short walk into the old mine. The tour guide was friendly and entertaining. It is a very interesting visit. Some folks were wondering about why we were required to wear a hardhat; watch your head. Some of the ceilings are a bit short; however, there was nothing overly strenuous about going down into the mine. It was very interesting...so much so, that we decided to go south for 25 miles to see the Queen mine tour too.

We really enjoyed our mine tour. Our tour guide, Mongo, was very informative and entertaining. We got to hike pretty far down into the mine. (Nice and cool inside). Quite a few steps coming back up so not for those who can't hike a couple flights. Tour was about 45 minutes for $15 ($12 for seniors, not sure for kids).

My wife, son and I went together on this underground mine tour. We were part of a group of about a dozen tourists on a Wednesday morning. The tour guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable! You are underground for approximately a half hour and the walk is very easy if you're in reasonable shape. We all learned something we hadn't known about silver mining and the processing of the ore. One of the better attractions in historic Tombstone. Price point is a little high at $15.00 but not out of line with other local attractions.

The Good Enough Mine is a wonderful attraction that you should visit while in Tombstone. Back in 1877, Ed Schieffelin filed his first mining claim. He named it Tombstone after what the naysayers told him he would find if he went there. Ed got the last laugh and the rest is history. People journeyed from all over in the hopes of striking it rich themselves one day. Ed’s second claim, The Good Enough Mine, is all about what these dreamers experienced as well as the hardships they had to endure. The Good Enough Mine has a number of different tours ranging from an easy stroll to rigorous treks for the super fit. We experienced the Family-Friendly Hour tour which takes you through a quick, but thorough, tour of the mine without too much climbing or struggle. The tour is really cool; you get to shoot through different man-made passages, where men risked their lives on a daily basis in pursuit of their dreams. While inside the mine, you get to see different minerals and ore veins that are simply amazing to view. Not only do you get to see the original tools and equipment used by the miners, but the tour guide provides a detailed description of the way they lived which truly makes the experience come alive.Although it was chilly the day we were here, the mine stays at a cool 50 degrees. This must make it really pleasant during the summer time as an activity that gets you out of that desert heat. I will definitely be back to venture much deeper into the mine and get a more elaborate experience on our next visit. I do highly recommend you at least experience the Family-Friendly Tour to get a true understanding of why Tombstone is even here in the first place.

What an adventure for the four of us, my son, two grandchildren and myself. I felt as if I were transformed and was actually a miner in this silver mine. I knew that I could never have worked there even for 1 hour. Such hardships, such an undertaking and what an appreciation for those who lived in this time. Every person who can walk and visits Tombsone should take this tour so that one realizes the wonderful life we have in the 21st century.

This was a really interesting mine tour, with lots of history and stories. The old original timbers hold up the roof of the mine, and there are many chambers and tunnels. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. There is a flight of stairs to walk down, and therefore, back up out of the mine, so if you have health issues this may not be the tour for you. There is a tip bucket at the top of the stairs, be sure to leave something for your guide!!!

Good Enough mine tour is right in town on 5th street. Several tours are available, some only for the young and adventourous. The normal tour last for around 40 mins or so and takes you down into the mine on an easy walk. Our tour guide was involved with the reopening of the mine for tours, and had first hand experience in working there. Amazing to know that they worked completely by candle light and with basic hand tools. the use of dynamite in the 1880's must also have been an adventure, especially in closed quarters. We were told the miners worked 6 days a week, 10 hour shifts, with 2 shifts each day; apparently 2 hours a shift was allowed to clear the dust out after blasting occurred each shift. There are several miles of tunnels right underneath the downtown area from the mining days."Supposedly" there is still silver present in the mine, but the current owners are content with tourism at this time.

its a great tour, not like a museum with just displays and pictures, you get a real feel for how the mine worked in the day. the young guide was very knowledgeable and able to answer all the questions posed. I was hoping to tip the guide however he had to come up the stairs last so we missed him. Lots of stairs and narrow trails to follow. Be sure to go next door for the Hysterical gunfights too!

We enjoyed our tour of the mine. The guide did a good job of explaining the history and shared lots of interesting stories. We were with a fun bunch of people and they added to the experience. You should be aware that coming up the stairs at the end of the tour is quite a hike and if you lack the legs and/ or the lungs you should not participate. We found that at the end of almost every show, tour, etc. we went to, we were politely encouraged to leave a tip, which we were happy to do. After the tour we had a nice cold beer at the bar beside the mine, sitting outside on the rustic furniture over looking the foothills. Between the tour and looking around at the old mining tools and equipment surrounding the mine (which my husband loves) you can easily spend 2 hours there. We had a great time. Highly recommend the Good Enough Mine Tour!

It was a very informative guided tour. The only bad thing really was all of the steps coming back out, make sure you are in pretty good shape. It was worth the effort, however.

History and exercise! You walk down a lot of steps to go into the Good Enough Mine. Of course you have to walk back up all the same steps to get back out. Our guide said you only have to walk up half as many steps going back if you take them two at a time. You will learn a lot about the early days of mining in Tombstone. This is where it started. I encourage you to find the mine entrance back at 501 Toughnut St. I think you will enjoy it. We all did.

I was on a tour of this mine back in the early 80's,then it was closed for a while, reopening a few years ago,and the tour is better now then then. Our guide had a good knowledge of the history of the mine and of the area. He kept the fact coming long enough to be interesting, but not too long to be boring! When we go back will definitely take the longer tour .

Frankly, I enjoyed the mining tour more than the OK Corral reenactment and the Ghost Tour. Tombstone was built off of the silver mining industry and this gives you some great insight into the area. The rocks and artifacts are cool and the tour guide is informative. All fitness levels were on our tour, so it's accessible for almost everyone. They also offer 4 and 7 hour trips through the mine if you are really in to spelunking. Also, the price is great.
