We stopped by this winery to try their wines and particularly enjoyed their Arizona wines. At the time we were there, they were setting up for a new year's eve party that looked like it was going to be a blast! We had the winery owner pouring wine for us, and really enjoyed chatting with him. The grounds at this winery are lovely, including an outdoor fireplace and patio. Highly recommend checking this casual winery out!
This winery is only half a mile from our place. And I must say the best one I have ever visited. The property and surroundings are beautiful. The wine's are a nice variety. I am partial to the white wines. :) the owners are always on site meeting and greeting and making you feel as if you have known them forever. Don't miss the Bluegrass festival in October! They also have a nice variety of food pairing with the wine. I can see why so many have had their weddings here as well as other events. Keep up the great work!
We live part time in the area and spend Sunday evenings usually going to the winery to share a bottle of wine and enjoy the people and events held there. The owners are great folks, very knowledgeable and fun to talk to. We were offered a nice tour our first time there and were delighted to see all the work and dedication they had put into making this a great venue for events or just relaxing and enjoying what the Kingman area has to offer. They have a nice variety of wines to choose from and I especially love their chardonay which is closer to a pinot gregio and wonderful on a warm day.
What a delightful day! We made our way out to the winery (please don't use your GPS...use instruction from the winery web site) and where greeted by very pleasant, knowledgeable staff. The wines where excellent...much to our surprise! We tried several of the appetizers with our bottle of wine...they where excellent! While we where lounging there we where greeted by the owner who shared the great story of the start of the winery! We are anxious to return next year to see the growth! Great job Stetson Winery!
We made the trek out to Stetson Winery because I always visit local wineries when I travel to find wines for my in-laws. They love trying new, local wines so I always try to get them at least a couple bottles every trip.It seemed like a very long trip TO the winery (but a lot shorter on the return), but I suspect that was mostly because we forgot to bring our directions and were afraid we were lost. LOL But the county has recently put up some signs to help people like us. As you go down Concho Drive, watch for the blue signs with the grapes. We arrived at the winery early, but the gentleman opening up very kindly let us in. It was way too early to sample the wines (it was only 10:30am!) but he assured me the wines are great. LOL He told us the winery has only been open a year, so they're still growing. There's plenty of room to hold events there, including a lovely outdoor pavilion.I'm looking forward to going back in a different season - when the wines are green. It should be a beautiful place then.
We try to find a winery in all the areas we visit and were pleasantly surprised to find Stetson on the outskirts of Kingman. Our host, Wade, was pleasant, informative and gracious. We loved all the wines and purchased four bottles. The facility is quite nice and, based on Wade's description of their ongoing expansion, this is going to be a fantastic place to take family and friends. Just a couple of minutes outside of town and well worth the drive!
We were in Kingman for a family reunion, so went out on a Sunday afternoon to take a look at the winery. Five of us had a wine tasting - four different kinds. There is a $5 charge for a wine tasting, but if you buy a bottle, they'll credit your $5 towards it. The wines were delicious, the wine labels so unique, and the staff was very pleasant. Most of us bought a bottle to take home with us. There are several gift items for sale, such as homemade soap, jewelry, purses, clothing, etc. Very nice place and something different to do in this area.
Though I live locally, I had yet to visit the winery since it opened in November 2012. My niece wanted to acquire a local wine for a gift to a friend back home. Visited on a Friday afternoon. Enjoyed the wine tasting and appreciated the explanations of what I was sampling as I am not well educated on wines. Visited for a bit with the owner and learned a bit about the history of the winery and what more will be happening. This is going to be a nice event center just a little out of the way from Kingman. My niece selected three wines to take home. This certainly adds to the local experience. Worthy of note: follow the map directions provided by the Stetson Winery website as a GPS device can and will get folks lost on roads that don't really exist - this I know for a fact as I have worked Emergency Services locally for 24 years and have rescued the lost.
Small winery with a few wines made with contract grapes. They are waiting for their vines to mature. Owners are very friendly. We tasted 4 wines and then sat and looked out at the valley while splitting a bottle of merlot and snacking on a plate of cheese and fruit. They have a nice gift shop with local crafts. Winery has been open to the public for a few weeks. It has great potential. If you like wine it is worth a visit. A nice addition to Kingman area.
We attended the New Year Eve celebration at Stetson Winery. The owners are great people and go out of their way to be sure you are having a good time. Although their vineyard is not mature enough, their wine made from contract grapes was excellent. The meal was perfectly served and cooked to perfection. My wife and I had the chicken cordon bleu and were not disappointed. The meal was catered by Dora's Beatles Street...well done. The winery and event center will certainly be a focal point for weddings, parties, etc.
