This stadium has a great layout and you can see from everywhere. I sat in the bottom corner near that Latino cheering section, and they were great to be around. The supporters were more than willing to have anyone join in on their fun. I will warn you though, they do not stop cheering and playing drums the entire match, so if you don't like unwanted noise, I would stay away from section 103. The bleachers are actually comfortable, but if you prefer to sit the whole game I would still recommend buying a bleacher cushion. Parking was $15 but they have designated areas for tailgating which is great, they have bathrooms and an outdoor sink. Outdoor activities and places to drop your hot coals after. Garbage and recycling cans almost everywhere, this is a very convenient place to tail gate. The fans are extremely respectful and understand the game. I would say that this place is kid & family friendly, but I do not have kids. As far as concessions there are a lot of beer choices but the section I was near just had your typically food choices. Leaving the stadium is terrible as there are only a few exits. I just stayed and waited until traffic was gone.
Family friendly place to watch MLS (Major League Soccer). The organization really caters to families with promotions and recognition of youth teams. The turf is a little worse for wear, but they do what they can.If you want to be under the roof in case of rain, get a seat on the sidelines above row 16 or so. The upper deck is completely covered. If you want a specialty beer, make sure to get it when you arrive as they routinely run out by halftime. As for the drums, I'm pleased the Fire have rabid supporters but please just yell and not bang on the drums all game. I felt like I was travelling down the Amazon in a campy B movie.
First time there, not a bad view in the house. Very fan friendly. Even long concession lines were quick. Tailgating allowed and seemed encouraged. Will definitely make the trip again.
Nice pre-game activities for families, and atmosphere in the Park for a game was good, except for fans spraying beer on people. Security was told about it, and said they "would keep an eye on the situation". Hmmm...
Easy to get to location, doubles as a concert venue. Good food/drink prices (considering it is Chicago) for a stadium. Great time!
Had a great time at our first Chicago Fire game! Made the trek from Michigan to see a game with our soccer crazy kids and we were impressed. Good tailgating atmostphere outside the stadium, decent location (would prefer a city location, but the burbs were ok), fairly good traffic flow in and out, and a clean/serviceable stadium. Not all the bells and whistles of a state-of-the-art NFL stadium, but they had enough food (including some healthy options), clothing and restrooms.
The stadium itself is a very nice and comfort but location is horrible. It's far away from Chicago and the traffic can make the travel very long. Hopefully Chicago Fire can get stadium more close to Chicago.
Initially, I was a little concerned about getting to the game from downtown. Knew of the Pub-to-Pitch program, but wanted to get the most out of my CTA pass. Luckily, there was a direct bus from Midway to the field. At the gate, there was an issue with the scanner, so my ticket from my Season Ticket pass didn't have a seat number, just a section. However, after five people pointed to the upper entrance and said "just go there then down and you can get across," I finally found an elevator to get me to the right place. I couldn't hear the announcer well, and I was right under the only replay board; however, I was more-or-less field-side, which was great! Also, the lower-level fan store was possibly the biggest and best-organized one I've seen for a profession team.
Tailgating before the soccer match, spacious seating, suites, concessions, and fan memorabilia. Enjoy the fan friendly atmosphere.
Went to a Chicago Fire game over the Labor Day weekend. It was a wonderful experience overall. The stadium is in an odd location though and not really convenient to the Tri-state or to I-55. Parking charge was pretty steep at $15 to park on a gravel lot. We sat on the goal side near the "super fan" section which was very fun and so close to the action. Food is very expensive - really $4 for a water? Suggest you stop for lunch (or dinner) before you get to the stadium.
My family and I attended the Chicago Fire game last Sunday on a whim after seeing a groupon offer for 1/2 price tickets. We had never been to Toyota Park before and we left with an overall favorable impression. Our seats were a few rows up from the field, my boys really had a nice view of the action. The stadium was well kept and the staff were all friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back for another visit.
Wanted to see what all the hype was about soccer. Enjoyed seeing everyone tailgating. Lots of red in the stadium Chicago fires color. Was able to purchase some fan apparel in the shop, lots of help offered. Very friendly, getting our tickets was easy and staff also friendly. Food was your average ball park food and ball park prices. Parking fee 15 dollars not bad for Chicago. My only dissapoinment no souvenir cups at this stadium when you buy a fountain drink. Parking lot leaving can be a little irritating, saw some staff just standing and not directing. Same when entering no one was directing. Regardless of that the park itself was great.
I will not go back.Starting at $10 to park, and $10 per person to enter. We found two stages, food vendors, other vendors, and carnival rides for the kids. The event website did not list the events. The event was boring. If it wasn’t for the company I attended the event with I would have considered the day a portion of my life wasted.
Saw Americanarama (Bob Dylan, Wilco, My Morning Jacket, Richard Thompson) here on July 12th. Perfect night and a great venue for the show - open enough to allow some breeze, but the acoustics were solid and there was little sound lost or wasted. Parking arrangements - they seemed to route people all around to the back, then funnel everyone in a winding path through the neighborhood to leave - was the only detriment.
We travelled to Chicago to attend an MLS game. 3 days before the game, a team rep called to talk to us to answer questions. Very polite. Made me assume game day experience would be as helpful. Unfortunately, I did not ask the right questions. We took a cab to the stadium. You need to enter the stadium through a ticket specific gate, and walk up a significant flight of stairs. I am certain there are handicap accessible access points, but not identified. The Stadium itself is clean, good sight lines. Food was standard. Ushers were a bit rude directing to your seats ( I guess it's the soccer hooligan mentality from Europe) After the game, no one in the stadium knew where the L Shuttles were parked; they all indicated in the parking lot. Even the valet indicated "somewhere out there." Our family with 3 kids, started wandering the parking lot in the dark, raining, with exiting post- game traffic. Finally a parking lot attendant told us "just keep walking, you can't miss them."....the buses were in the very back of the parking lot. We barely made it onto the jam packed second bus. A bit more education on the game day staff is necessary. We will be armed with knowledge when we return. But the overall inexperience of the staff would turn off the casual fan or the young family.
