it was a fun way to spend in impromptu morning on a cold snowy day. The docent met us at the door and was very knowledgable and passionate about the center and its denizens. The staff was amazing, so sweet, the volunteers that care for the animals were extraordinarily accommodating. It was great to see the native wildlife up close and to talk to my daughter about conservation and respecting wildlife. It is perfect for her age group of four and probably for older kids to. They need a little attention to their signage and refreshing the general look of the place. Their gift shop was weak, I would have bought lots of stuff had they anything. I donated to them and hope other people do as well. They do great work and aside from refreshing those few things it is a great place to go to see native wildlife. We will go again.
This place takes in wildlife that has been hurt, there is birds, foxes, eagles, bobcats and many more. Some are relished back into the forest. They also have some good hiking trails.
This wildlife center has rescued wild animals like hawks, foxes, eagles and raccoons. What is lovely about it is that it is set in the woods, and is just the right size for for a 1 hour visit. When my children were small, it was the perfect size for an outing.
The center is very peaceful and they take great care of the wildlife. This please is worth a visit at least once a year. It's a great place for families, couples, and seniors. There's a lot of very useful information provided as well. They offer rehabilitation help for abandoned or injured animals. They also accept donations for the animals.
We visited the Willowbrook Wildlife Center with some out of town guests. There were 6 children ranging in ages from 4 to 10 years old. They all had a great time seeing the animals, petting birds and snakes and going on a hike on the trails. This is our second time visiting the center and the children love it!
The center is free of charge but they do ask for donations. Please donate! Very nice, educational nature center tending to and housing many area birds, reptiles, fish and animals from Foxes and Raccoons to Blue Jays, and Eagles. Many of these come in that are injured or orphaned and the center rehabs them to be introduced back into the wild. Some can't so they are cared for at the center. Many things for children to do and see. The naturalist is always willing to talk to and will sometimes bring a hawk out to show a group. The grounds has a fish pond, butterfly garden and a small trail in back past the outdoor housing to experience natural woods/wetlands/prairie areas. Awesome place for scout, school programs or just you and your kids.
