I have enjoyed each and every event attended at the Wildey. I wish I could find the time to attend more concerts and events there. I am guessing on last time attended. Too long ago and trying to work out making the comedy this weekend.
This is a nice venue for a concert. We have been twice now and both times we enjoyed the venue. The seats are comfortable and the acoustics are pretty good.
We saw the Little River Band there twice. It was a good place to see a show like that. It seems most every seat in the place is good. Tickets were a little pricey but I would pay it again to see them a 3rd time !
A place of my dreams right here in my town. Beautifully restored. Worth a visit just to see the rehab. Too many tribute bands. I like the real deal. I love their special shows like White Christmas with audience participation. Dracula was over the top! Excellent acoustics and ambience. The Wildey is the real deal. .
I didn't walk upstairs to check out the balcony, but we were in the last row on the main floor and felt like a part of the action. I don't think there's a bad seat in the house! We were there to see 1970s icon Rare Earth, and the sound was absolutely phenomenal - not overpoweringly loud, and clear as a bell. I don't know if that's due to the acoustics here, an in-house sound tech, or the band's traveling board operator, but it was great.I was hoping to run into the manager, Al Canal, but missed him; he's a bit of an icon himself if your memory goes back to the St. Louis standup comedy scene of the 80s.
Completely refurbished cinema that now hosts music and other acts. Intimate venue with comfortable feeling as well as seats and aisle ways. Can not imagine a better venue in the St. Louis area.
I remember when I use to go here when I was little girl. Boy is sure has gotten smaller. It was bigger than life when your a little person. It's a shame that they don't advertise and get some really good performers, shows. When I go past the billboard always has something on it but maybe I'm just getting old and think a lot of the venues are really weird.
What an ABSOLUTELY GREAT place this venue is! Nice, quaint venue to see concerts! I have seen several concerts in this establishment and have sat in different places to get the feel of the place and each time was a good experience! The only downside....they only serve beer and wine and wish they served cocktails as well.
We really enjoyed a concert at this facility. It is relatively small and intimate. Parking was the only challenge.
We love the Wildey, wonderful venue for an up close and personal experience no matter what you are there to enjoy. Many many good memories and hope to make many more at the Wildey.
A large group of us went here for the annual Christmas classic show; which is FREE and sponsored by a local bank. Fun atmosphere, reasonably priced concessions, and that kind of nostalgia you don't see anymore in your "big box" movie theaters. I LOVE this place!
As a community, we're really proud of the Wildey. Many people remember fondly it's heyday as THE place for young people to hang out. The restoration was painful and expensive, but the result is a marvel. It's LOVELY & the team at the Wildey work very hard to present a great variety of community interest offerings. They draw in excellent musical groups & they play classic movies. It's just a great place to go.
Great place to live music and movies. Restored theater from early 1900's Not a bad seat in the house, up close and personal. Easy to get to and out of, with lots of eating places in area.Have visited venue more than 10 times in last few years.
Have now been to a couple films and concerts at the Wildey, and it's a wonderful experience. Lovely renovated historic theatre with top-notch sound, seating, etc. and even a wine bar! Fees vary by event/concert, but some movies are even free!
The City of Edwardsville ponied up bigtime a few years back and renovated the old Wildey Theatre. It still shows movies, but it has become more of a concert venue. That's a good thing. I've been to five shows there and have been well pleased by each of them. It is great to be able to sit there and listen to ex-Traffic rock legend Dave Mason play an acoustic set and tell stories. If you know the performer, this is worth a trip of up to a hundred miles to come and see a show. There re plenty of taverns and eateries on Main Street, so you can park and walk. One neg: I left quickly during the set break because it is a serpentine, quickly jammed pathway to the attached bar. You could still be waiting to order a drink when the second set begins....
