This T-ball size ball bark is just like the Chicago Cubs baseball field. Two of my grandsons have had the opportunity to play T-ball and beginning pitch baseball here. You can even rent it for a couple of hours for a party for your children to play ball and take pictures for a birthday party.
Go ahead..stop by and enjoy it. Small and fun. And it sort of looks like Wrigley Field. GO on a summer day and it is probably even funner.
Take some time while in Freeport to stop and visit the field. Play on the field for free! If you visit during the week, bring your own bats and balls or visit on the weekend and use the ones they set out. Be sure to check for reservations though, as if you visit when the field is reserved, you will have to wait until the reservation is over.Great spot for birthday parties, family or class reunions and even weddings!.
A replica of Wrigley Field that is an attraction for young children who want to run the bases andplay ball. It has a small gift shop for those interested in Cub items. Kids can get on the field and pretend to be in Chicago's bigger facility. Worth a short visit if you are in the area.
This is a really cute replica of the real thing. Its "kid-sized" and they love it. My family enjoys playing here when we visit family in Illinois.
This is an exact replica of Wrigley Field including ivy growing on the outfield wall. Pee Wee league baseball and adult wiffle ball are played frequently. There have been several weddings and birthday parties held on the field. Nearly all of the material and labor were donated, including donations by the former owners of the Cubs. The CubS organization has donated flags and seats from Wrigley field.
If, for whatever reason, you find yourself in Freeport with no computer and absolutely nothing else to do Little Cubs Field is worth a drive-by. If you do have a computer just surfing the net will be a better use of your time.
We were traveling Rt. 20 on our way to Galena from Aurora, and saw a sign on a barn advertising Little Cubs Field, so we had to stop off in Freeport to see what it was all about. We were not disappointed. We're well acquainted with the big Wrigley, and this is a wonderful miniature version--one of the coolest things we've ever seen, and what a great idea! When we visited, the Little Leaguers were playing--Cubbies vs. the White Sox. Totally loved it.
Interesting site. There's plaques that tell you about the site, and a nice statue. Flowers surround the area.
I drive by almost everyday and still think this is such a great Idea. I really enjoy seeing it and have stopped serveral times to watch the little kids play like they are in the big leagues. They have a great time
to Read Park. Was hoping to see a ballgame while we were there but there weren't any. I'm so glad Freeport was chosen for this great Field.
Who doesn't like the Cubbie? I mean really who? This is the NEATEST place. Our son played little league ball on this field for 2 years. You can rent it for family reunions, weddings, parties or anytime it open... just walk on and play.
Too bad every Chicago Cub fan or any junior baseball player can't experience this once. My son played here once. I think the coach books the field from outside the area for the experience. He will never forget it. The bad thing is the next year he was too old to play any here, as he moved to an older league and because of its size you would be belting them out of the field all the time. But it is worth a few pictures and trying to get a game in.
This is quite the adventure. The ivy is from cuttings taken from the big field in Chicago. I know that the kids have a good time there, and the town is Cub's nuts...A good attraction.
cute small ball field with free admission! run the bases, catch in the outfield with real ivy from Wrigley Field!
