This was our first time there and we will be back again Cute store with all types of items great place to pick out a gift for someone that you wouldn't find somewhere else
This is a really fun store to browse & look for unusual gifts. Totally disagree with one bad review. My experience (and there have been many) is that clerks are VERY friendly and helpful.
I just love this shop. Has so many cute things. Even if I don't need something, I always walk away with something. Put this on your priority stop
Be prepared for some nostalgia and one of a kind finds. Room upon room to explore for little to big treasures. Special cards, soaps, table linens, jewelry travel cases, wine...it is all here! Staff is helpful and browsing is sure to lead you to something you didn't know you needed it until you touched it here. Right in Geneva. Great area to walk and dine.
This collection of shops is on 3rd Street in Geneva, IL. The street is the best in the area for casual shopping. The Little Traveler has dress shops, a sweet shop, antiques, children's clothing, a wine shop and a kitchen accessory shop all under one roof. In September at the Festival of the Vine - they have huge tents with wine tasting and accessories for sale.
I have been visiting the Little Traveler for at least 20 years. It is always enjoyable for me. They have everything in the store. Many items are unusual. Their prices are fair and the staff is very helpful and professional. They have a small tea room which is cute and the food is reasonable. The store is in a former mansion. There are many cute rooms it is easy to get lost for hours.
Spent a delightful day with friends at the Little Traveler in Geneva Illinois. I remember going there with my Grandmother! If you have not been, it's an old house that has turned the 12+ rooms into little shops each of which carry 100's of items....from food and wine, to cookware, clothing, toys, linens, housewares, paper goods, floral arrangements, seasonal decorations, baby & children's clothing, antiques, art, lighting, and so much more. And don't forget lunch. They have spent time thoughtfully expanding their menu and you won't be disappointed.
The Little Traveler is a collection of shops in one building . Each room is a different theme and sells unique items. The prices range from very affordable to high end. There is something for everyone. They have specialty craftsmen that come on a schedule such as a knife/scissor sharpener, china mending, etc. They also regularly have programs of interest -- today we went to a portrayal of Margaret Mitchell, the author of Gone with the Wind. Very informative and excellently done. Another very enjoyable day at the Little Traveler!
The reason I love this unique shopping complex is that is celebrates being a woman. It reminds me of boutiques in the southern states of America. The complex consists of a grouping of shops- you walk from room to room throughout this Victorian era building. I especially like the gourmet foods shop because the items are presented with possible recipes and samples of many of the products. The prices are right too. The candy shop and Conservatory are also favorites of mine. There is a womens clothing boutique but the styles are for the wiser set. Same with the jewelry room. Stop for a light lunch in the center of the complex for simple tea sandwiches with a glass of white wine. This is not a place for the guys but I do occasionally see them wandering about.
This is an amazing place for shopping. The building is huge and goes on and on and on. It is full of lovely things to buy. All sorts of things. We had lunch here as well and the food was delicious. Service was good and prompt. The restaurant is a little clattery in sound. The only thing I really didn't like was being interrupted during our meal (3 times!!) by women modeling clothes from the store. I'm sure some people like that but I don't.
This is the highlight of any shopping trip to downtown Geneva. Numerous shops and boutiques are located in a 36 room mansion right in the center of the shopping district. Every time you think you've seen it all, there is another room filled with something new. They have jewelry, toys, housewares, kitchenware, stationery, women's clothing, collectables, a Christmas shop and even a café it you get hungry. It's a definite must visit if you are in Geneva.
This was a very interesting store. Each room was like a different store. Really enjoyed the kitchen store and the unique food items. They were giving wine samples and the ladies were so nice. They were sampling some very good wines too! Some of the rooms were very high priced and some were reasonable. Each room did have an area with sale items. Would definitely like to go back when I have more time.
While at the art fair in Geneva, a friend and I visited this "store". It is more like a mall of boutique shops with many uniqre items. The art fair was a high quality, large one and this establishment is at least as good. I have been looking for several months for an outfit for my step-son's wedding. I was told it needed to be formal, but not too formal, colorful but not too colorful. It has been a challenge. I found exactly what I have been looking for in their women's clothing store! The building itself is very interesting and the items in the various boutiques are high quality and seem appropriate to the surroundings. Even if you don't buy anything this place is worth a visit..It is worth a special visit to Geneva!
My family loves this place. The shops are lovely. In each shop, if you ask them, they will send your purchased items to the back of the building and give you a claim ticket so that you don't have to carry your bags if you do not want to. When you're ready to leave, you just go around back and claim your items. They even tie the bags closed with ribbon which makes this woman feel like a princess! Sometimes they run wonderful sales, but even when they don't we have managed to find lovely, affordable items for our home or for our jewelry collection. THE ATRIUM CAFE is located in the middle of The Little Traveler and it is amazing. Their Cranberry Chicken Wrap and their Quiche is to die for. I recently hosted a baby shower for my daughter at the Atrium and it was fabulous. David Bogash, the chef / manager and the servers were kind, courteous, and efficient. They gave us a day that we will never forget. I highly recommend the Atrium for any special events you are hosting. Long live The Little Traveler! It's the BEST.
The Little Traveler is a conglomeration of shops in one. Each room is a different theme and sells unique items. The prices range from very affordable to high end. There is something for everyone. They even have a cafe that serves a great lunch. There is also a gourmet wine and kitchen shop. Wonderful!
