pioneer club

This is not my first time at the Pioneer Club for food and drinks. They have been through some owner/management changes over the past four years and the folks running it now have continued to restore it to the way it has been for decades. I own several businesses and three of them are restaurants with bars. So I have courteous expectations knowing the trials and tribulations owners and staff face daily. Food wise this place has a great niche. They serve food I would initially describe as CHUCK WAGON FAIR. I truly expect to see COOKIE or Hop Sing to come bounding out of the any moment. But surprisingly the owners have gone a different route. They have a team of young ladies that come from both sides of the tracks literately and together they all have learned to do every job in the place. Its actually working out real well. Now everyone can cook and/or serve, so they all know how to get it to you right. Knowing the family personally I can attest to one fact- THEY WANT TO GET IT RIGHT EVERY TIME. But folks reality is sometimes things just go wrong in the process. I also know this, the last thing they want is anyone being disappointed so they are known for doing whatever it takes to make it right. Talk to them tell them right away, they are a family oriented bunch and they want your business and they want you happy. If your looking for something FAST then let them know, its not a fast food joint its a sit down family style restaurant but they can sling something together in a flash to take care of that rush if they know your in a hurry. We often have business lunches & dinners there when we are in town and at times garner tables of as many as 20. Sure that puts the pinch on them but they always pull it off and in the mean time take care of their normal flow. Recently they added 2 inches to my waist line by starting breakfast. My wife just loves Tana's biscuits and gravy and that monstrosity Pete created is going to cause my cardiologist to crack the whip on me for sure. Its not your wimpy breakfast menu. Really, its just about anything you can imagine done just the way you want. If they have it they will cook it fresh and if your still hungry just ask for more. THEIR NOT FOOLING AROUND get a great start to the day or a food coma. There is no secret we eat at the other great spots in town too and have great things to say about them also. This is our family's favorite, we like the feeling of belonging there almost like we are part of their family. I would tell anyone reading this that if you like to relax in a place that would let you traverse the kitchen if your curious because they have nothing to hide and only want you served the safest meal possible then you should try the Pioneer Club.
