Jonamac Orchard is a great place for the whole family, during the week it is free for kids to play in there huge playground! They have a store where you can buy apple pies, fudge, apple doughnuts, candles, apple cider and much much more. They also have a huge apple field where you can pick your own apples and you can even pick your own pumpkin there. There is always plenty to do at Jonamac and the kids will be worn out by the end of your day!!!
Hidden in the countryside of Malta, Jonamac is more than just a great place to pick your own apples or pumpkins. They have a goo -- but limited -- bakery and lots of gifts to buy. They have special events from a food wagon weekend to a very large corn maze...that is exceptionally scary near Halloween. Great fun for the entire family.
We've been coming to Jonamac every year since 2005, and it keeps getting bigger and better every year. Last week, I saw a list of the top 25 fall farm attractions in the U.S., and Jonamac wasn't on the list. I recognized two other orchards, but in my opinion, Jonamac is much better. (I hope Jonamac stays off the list so the crowds don't get any larger.)Our kids and grandkids love it. The oldest is now 12, and she still loves it. Teenagers seems to flock to the Corn Maze, but they would also enjoy the apple picking and the Apple Launcher and Apple Cannon.Everything is great: the store, the apples, the fresh apple donuts and baked goods, the giant rocking chair, the food concessions, the apple and pumpkin picking, the pumpkin cannon, the apple cannons and apple launchers, the giant kids' barnyard play area, the Bouncing Pillow!, petting zoo, Apple Train, giant corn maze, and the list goes on. Plus, various kinds of entertainment are planned each weekend through the season.Jonamac does a great job of keeping the entire place clean and up to date. We have never been disappointed at the facilities: well-maintained and well-monitored. Even their website seems to be updated daily during orchard season.Family pass is $32 (best deal for families of 4 or more). Other pricing is here: http://www.jonamacorchard.com/visit-jonamac/activity-pricing/.We generally spend about 3 hours here before everyone is pooped. But you could easily spend the entire day here and never get bored.Tips: * Watch their website for the latest updates on which apples are ready for picking at any given time. * Sunny days are the best days for great photos of blue skies and fall colors.* The Corn Maze took us 45 minutes in 2014, and we made very few mistakes. Don't do it without a map!* Our kids LOVE the Bouncing Pillow. Don't miss it!
We love making a trip to Jonomac every year. Corn maze, petting zoo, fun place for the kiddos, and you pick apples! AMAZING cider and donuts
What a wonderful time we had picking out pumpkins and going inside and smelling the fresh baked goods. The kids had a great time petting the animals and playing in the corn. They had just finished combining so they were very tuned in to corn. Staff is great.
