I went Christmas shopping at Southpark Mall. I knew they had done some remodeling and was anxious to see it. I am disappointed in the food area. There was a Dairy Queen, Chick Filet and maybe one or two more. I really missed the food court that they use to have especially Whitey's Ice Cream. I hope they add it back. The mall is nice and many nice stores, just don't go there to eat.
Just moved to the area. I have no issue with the mall....they just finished remodeling the food court and added a sports jersey shop. Is it the mall of American....no BUT I like it. It has all the stores a young lady needs and hardly has long lines. The parking lot is still under construction but driving 30 min to davenport in the cold/snow is unnecessary to me. Stay local and shop so more business will desire to come. Why take your money and business to IA
This mall is under construction--in a big way--and I'm not sure it will bounce back. Currently there are 4 fast-food type eateries inside; I expected a courtyard of several different options. This is a transfer point for the Metro bus so I expected to see a lot more traffic. The parking lot is in terrible shape as well.
While a lot of people are stupid old farts who can't watch the news and don't know what they're saying about the mall . The mall is going under construction to become bigger and also become an outlet mall so stay tuned shoppers because it's gonna be great :)
This mall is under new management and is failing. So many of the store fronts are empty it just looks depressing. The only bright spot was Old Navy, but now even they have left. There are plans to consolidate the stores and tear down a section of the building. We will see if this mall can make a comeback in the next year or if it is doomed.
It's so sad to see South Park Mall deterioate as it is. The parking lot is worst than Illinois'shighways, which is saying something. if one more major anchor store leaves I'm not sureit will stay open. I like the mall for its proximity but for major shopping, one must go toNorth Park, more stores, more choices within the stores, even the major chainsIt's so sad that it is not mananged better.
Still has a lot of great shops and anchor businesses. Losing Sears will be no loss. Staff mostly stands around and talks at Sears, while 2 poor ladies up front are trying to assist all the customers.
Although the anchor stores are adequate, the better shopping experience is at the NorthPark mall in Davenport. More open stores withgreater variety and the same anchor stores and Dillards. Nine out of ten times I shop, I go to NorthPark because this mall simply doesn't have what I want.
Usually I go to the Davenport mall because it's closer, but I like Southpark. It's sad how it's falling apart. The inside and outside. Yet, I've found sometimes when I can't find things elsewhere, I've found it at Southpark. Hooray for that. I miss Bishop's. I hope the owners of Southpark can save this mall.
I enjoy this mall. it is close to home and is clean. But so many of the stores have left. The stores that are still there are mostly clothing. And there isn't a lot for the "older" person. They seem to be trying to attract more stores. But I would reccommend this mall if you are in the area. It is nce.
Pretty pathetic...we were from out of town and stopped by and half the stores are closed and other half are just dirty. The Chick-Fil-A is even subpar and that surprised me! Do yourself a favor and stay away...heck go to Davenport on 53rd St
This mall is running down, compared to North park Mall. My work place is close to this mall so I usually come to this one rather than the North Park one. Personally I prefer a quiet and non-crowded shopping experience. Therefore, the lack of crowds and consumers in this mall do not really bother me. I can find the main stores I usually shop here. Therefore, it's not a bad place for me.
I visited the Southpark mall in Moline this weekend. It's a large mall with many stores. There is a food court but, surprisingly, not all of the food is in the food court? Chick-fil-a, Dairy Queen and 1-2 others are near the food court but, not in it. The mall itself was clean but, i didn'tvisit many stores--i was just trying to kill some time. The food court is very noisy because there are high ceilings and a kid play area immediately nearby. The mall has plenty of parking but, shoppers were limited on the Sunday that i visited. All in all, it was pretty much like any mall.
Depressing! This mall used to be the place to go growing up. Now, more and more stores (long-term tenants included) are gone. Any mall Simon Properties takes over dies a slow, painful death. I was elated to hear someone else just bought this mall and can maybe breathe some life back into it!
