Every chance I get when visiting Illinois in the fall I make sure I visit Tanners Orchard. This place is a must for those who love to be out in the country especially picking your own apples and pumpkins. It is also a great place for families with children. There is lots of outdoor activities for the children to enjoy at reasonable prices. They also have a petting zoo. I enjoy visiting their store, bakery, and gift shop. They also have samples of apple cider and slices of different variety of apples you can try. Apple cider donuts is a must! This seems to be one of the best selling baked goods. There are a couple of places to eat at Tanners Orchard. We really liked their cider brats. Be sure to call ahead and see what is open (children's play area, restaurant, etc..) The best time to visit is on the weekends even though it is very busy. You will truly enjoy your day at Tanners Orchard.
