The good aspects are that they offer ALOT of different beer and food options. You have a pretty good view from most of the seats in the place. The parking to get in DOES take a long time. Parking is kind of disorganized. My one big tip is to bail out of there BEFORE the last to songs or you are in some SERIOUS TROUBLE! ! It is not worth the waiting hoyrs to get out of the parking lot ir fighting all thise people in that place to leave just to hear one or two more songs. Just listen to them on the walk back to your car. You can get right on the highway and out of there!! If you have lawn seats...get there as SOON as it opens. They say you have an assigned seating area but it is REALLY a HORRIBLE free for all!! Also some shows they alow you to bring in chairs other times they send you packing with them right back to the car!?!
Went to see Thomas Rhett, Justin Moore, and Miranda Lambert at this venue, I had won lawn seats through the radio station but had heard mixed reviews about the lawn. Parking before the show was a breeze, and from the lawn it is elevated so its great you can see the stage and sound is good too. People were lots of fun and very friendly (the crowd depends on the show.. this was a country crowd obviously)... Only complaints are that although security does their best, you get a big whiff of weed now and then from people on the lawn, but security was good and present. The other complaint is leaving the venue. We sat in the parking lot for 50 mins waiting to leave, as there is one main exit from the lot... and we even left before the encore to beat the crowd! Overall, I can overlook that and would return to the venue.
We loved the venue overall, but the major negative was the long, ridiculous lines for food and beverages. We waited in a line for 30 minutes due to only 2 people working the booth. That was prior to the show, so I'm sure that's part of the reason, but there were a lot of booths closed for some reason for the Oddball Festival and it could have helped with line waits.
I agree, parking SUCKS at this venue, getting in and especially getting out, took over an hour with the idiots they have working traffic. Went to the Kiss concert a few weeks ago and came across a NEW secure place to park for this venue. Across from entrance 4 on Oak Park Ave, large parking lot and it only cost $15 to park and I was able to tailgate. It’s less than a ten minute walk to Venue but the best part was I did not wait in line to get in or out, it took me, and several other cars, about 10 minutes to get onto Harlem & I-80. Easy In Easy Out No Waiting is what they advertise - I will NEVER park in the 1st Midwest vender again for a concert!!!! This is a new parking lot and it beats having to wait with everyone else to get out .
I came to this venue for the Carnivores tour with Linkin Park, 30 Seconds to Mars and AFI. The main thing that I did not like about this venue was the seating. We were in section 203 and they did not slope well so you couldn't see very well if someone very tall was in front of you or if anyone was directly in front of you for that matter. Another negative point is the screens. They were not lit very well and were not the best of quality which I was surprised by. We did not buy food or drinks because the prices were through the roof. Cocktails were $17 and the draft beer was $9.50. Luckily we ate before we got to the venue. We had absolutely no problem with the parking though. The staff had three lanes of traffic going out of the venue and it took literally 10 minutes to get out and back onto the interstate after the show was over. It was certainly the fastest I had ever gotten out of a concert before so that was a plus! The sound was good and the bands were great. It was one of the best shows I had ever been to and the energy of the crowd was great. I would most likely come back here for a future show but I will definitely try to get seats closer to the stage next time.
they have seating for 20,000 + people but the area to stand and to purchase concessions is made for 1/3 of that. they ran out of water by first act (oddball fest) the drinks were ridiculous: $9.50 for a bottle of beer $14.00 for an 8oz (double) mixed drink. we had a group of four sitting near us carry on a conversation and everybody around us were asking them to be quiet and they just acted like children about it. i went and asked "security" to move them and they said we should move! move out of the seats we paid for?! well they did ask them to move, five seats down. yeah, really helpful. this way we got harrassing stares the rest of the show. i'd recommend this venue to only those i loathe.
I read so many TERRIBLE reviews about this place before going to the Drake vs. Lil Wayne concert on August 10. We had decent seats in the front section. It wasn't crowded and the security made sure that the correct people were in the correct areas. I liked the layout. The beer WAS EXPENSIVE though. We paid $12 per 16 ounce can. I didn't even dare to look at how much the mixers were (but what else would you expect at a concert?). The sound was a little off and my ears were still buzzing the next day, but overall the experience was nowhere near as bad as others have made it sound.
the only thing I liked about the place is the set-up.Other than that terrible.alcohol is very expensive.2 drinks cost me 30$The women were using the mens bathroom,(yeah I know, whats wrong with that)Whats wrong is most women were just walking in to be nosy.If I were to walk in theirs,I`d be arrested.Keep yhe ladies out of there. The taxi service was a joke.I needed a ride to Sybaris just 3 miles away and the wife had to just jump in a taxi after a 2 hour fiasco just to get a ride from one of them. And the driver was not happy about it.The sound was ok and thats about it.Other than the set-up.it was a huge joke!I will never ever go back and I was not the only one at the concert that night that thought the same thing...........
Comparing this place to the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Maryland Heights, MO (StL) where we usually see shows is like night and day. This place looks like it belongs on "Life After People" from the lack of care shown to it. We sat on the lawn and it was already trashed when we got there when the gates opened- covered with cigarette butts and small pieces of trash, grass was brown and dead with huge bare spots. We weren't allowed to bring a blanket, so we figured we'd rent a chair. Nope, the chair rental areas were just chained off spots along the fence overgrown with 5 foot tall weeds. Members of our party went down to get a drink before the headliners started and were gone probably 30 minutes. There are no drink booths at the top of the lawn to help alleviate some of the congestion in the main areas. The screens are at the same height as the stage, so if you can't see the stage, you still won't be able to see what's going on. However, we had no problems with parking/leaving since we arrived very early and left before the encore, and once my husband and I got on the lawn, we stayed on the lawn so arrive early, get your beverages, and stay put.
After reading reviews were a bit worried, but turned out GREAT! We took Trip Advisor advise & left plenty of time for drive & traffic & checked with venue that day regarding to what we could bring in. Brought our water bottles & snacks which helped with cost. We had NO issues with parking, or getting in or out or anything else. Concert was a sellout, crowd control was reasonable. Noticed LOTS of people came later, but not sure that was due to the artist line up or traffic. Other complaints people had related to taking tops of water bottles, wearing wrist bands for drinking, no tailgating all seemed reasonable to me to help with crowd control. Prices for EVERYTHING were VERY HIGH, but people paid them & waited in line for more. Given they let you bring in some stuff the choice to spend is yours. More bathrooms would have helped and as others stated sound left something to be desired.
The crowd control at this venue is simply dangerous. Went with friends to go see Mötley Crüe, and it took 45 minutes just to get into the lawn. People had to shove and push there way in. The security team did a great job taking care of a fight that happened near is, but they were totally out manned. Not sure of this concert was just oversold, but this by far was the worst venue I have been too in a long time. The sound was also terrible.
My car was stolen and nothing was done to help or fix the problem. Management basically told me it was my problem and that they weren't going to help! Kicked us out the venue while we were waiting for our ride. I live three hours away and paid for premier parking and asked was my car safe and they said yes! Il never go back to this venue and suggest no one else does either!
This is a nice outdoor concert venue. The parking was free and we were able to park quickly. However, the doors only opened a short time before the show and there were not many ticket takers. Even though we arrived long before the start of the show, the entrance line was very long, so we missed most of the first act. However, the food options were good and other than the long line at the entry, the venue seemed well-organized.
I find this venue to be pretty standard. Thankfully I didn't have to pay the outrageous parking bill.I think seats under the pavilion are great. Unless you are really close sitting toward the back of the front sections might offer better views. We were frisked Harder and searched more thoroughly than I have ever been checked in my life. Tough guy. This guy could find any terrorist should he enter. But that's a good thing. The $8 coke to refill for free seems like a good deal. Obstructed view seats seem like a decent deal. Id pay to sit there. Also, we spoke to head security in the lawn- very nice and professional. Felt safe.
So I go to see toby Keith with my wife at this place. Yes, everyone is standing but some drunk lady sitting behind us. No big deal I have seen that at most concerts. Well she starts throwing things at us because we are standing. I ignore it thinking she will give up. After about 45 minutes of this I get fed up with it and tell her to stop. There is a verbal exchange and I tell her to stop. Within a minute things are flying again. At this point I turn around again with my wife and she tried to hit my wife which causes my wife's drink to spill all over this drunk (lol). She then tried to hit me another miss (lol). So I call security and they tell me I have two options. One to sit and wait for her to do something else and they will then kick her out or go to the security office and file a complaint and she will get kicked out right away. I chose to file complaint. When I get to the office I am informed that anyone that is involved in any way gets kicked out. So she gets kicked out and so do I. What a joke. I ask them if I am just walking and someone punches me what would happen. They tell me the policy is both parties would get kicked out. What a joke. I had seven people sitting around us I didn't know tell security this lady was the issue and they don't even take that into consideration. The security manager is a joke along with the staff who he informs me doesn't know this policy and that's why they to me that I would be back in my seat in five minutes. They need to get a clue here but I did find it all amusing as the drunk thought I wouldn't confront her. I hope she reads this.
