In the small town of Troy Grove about 10-15 minutes north of LaSalle-Peru, there is a memorial dedicated to Wild Bill Hickok who was a notorious folk hero of the west but he also fought for the union army and fought for anti-slavery efforts. A must see for anyone in the area!!
