My kids loved all the exhibits and play areas. It is a bigger museum, multi-floor and with a number of different rooms, well kept and educational. Clean and well staffed.I liked it because of the historical aspect. Besides being a children's museum, it is located in a historical building and there is also an effort to educate visitors on area's past. That kept me entertained. Also very well priced. Another advantage is the playground outside which is public. Plenty of parking in adjacent parking lot. Friendly staff

Overall a very fun and quaint museum with tons of hands on, interactive play for the kiddos. My almost 4 year old had the funniest of times "feeding" ping pong balls to the big cow and watching them come out by the tail. The outside park is fantastic, we would have stayed much longer if the wind was not so chilly! Very affordable so I cannot complain too much about the quality, but there was a lot of exhibits or parts of the exhibits that were broken. It just seems under maintained and although it was a very clean children's spot I still think everything you are paying to play with should work. We still had fun and most likely will go again

We stopped by the Schoolhouse Children's Museum on a Saturday in mid-Dec and were pleasantly surprised to have the place mostly to ourselves; looked like the crowds were there earlier to make gingerbread houses. Our almost 3 year old daughter had a blast playing at the museum and even though it has two floors we barely made it to the second floor because she was having so much fun on the first! This museum is refreshingly low tech and most of the toys/exhibits are wooden and of high lasting quality. We really liked how the history of the town and the area was interwoven into all the exhibits. This made it very educational - on the local and national level - as well as fun. If we lived in the area we'd definitely visit here often!

Lovely place to spend an hour or two. Everything very hands on. My 5 year old loved it and we will be back again. Lovely little park outside as well. Easy to find and parking is free and easy .

I took my 12, 6 and 4 year old to this museum and they all had a great time. There was only one other mom with her two kids there the entire time so my kids basically had it all to themselves! They had fun in all the exhibits and my older two loved doing the scavenger hunt. We were inside for 2 hours which was probably the perfect amount of time. Then the kids played on the huge playground outside.Negatives - the exhibits were kind of a mess and some didn't seem to be working or have the supplies available. The playground was full of pre-teens and teens without parents and made it kind of uncomfortable for my little kids.

Recently, my husband and I took 2 of our grandchildren, ages 2 and 4. Our daughter, her husband and 1 year old were with us. The kids totally enjoyed this museum and whined when we (the grandparents!) got tired and had to leave. We never made it to the outdoor playground, because the indoor interactive play was so amazing and fun. It is full of bright, imaginative areas with plenty of things to do. There is no way that they can get bored, and the admission is very reasonable. We were told that the best time to come is during the week, as there are parties on the weekend and it can get crowded. If you decide that you like it, and we did, you can add that day's admission to a membership, which is a great bargain. A Grandparents' Membership cost $45, and covers unlimited visits for a year for both grands and up to 5 granchildren!

This is a hands on creative playplace that teaches the history of Boynton Beach. Children can touch, pretend, dress up, do artwork, and have a multitude of experiences. It is bright and cheerful and clean. There is a fantastic playground outside. The price is so reasonable!!! The people who work there are extremely friendly. This should not be missed with the younger set. Great place for grandparents to take the under 8 set on a rainy or too hot day.

I took my granddaughter here and she loved it. She had so much fun with all the toys and things they had to play with. She was running from one place to another, filled with joy at all the interactive things she could do. She wanted to come back again, and on her next visit, I will be taking her here again. If you have small children or grandkids, take them here!!

Great place to spend a few hours on rainy or sunny days. Our 2 year old had a great time. There are lots of things to do, learn and play with in the museum (kitchen, train station, doctor's office, post office, grocery store, farm, ...)There is also a large playground outside where younger (1-5 years old) and older kids (5-12 years old) can run around, climb and slide. It was lots of fun!

In the area visiting family for the holiday - and I was looking for something to do on a rainy day with my 2 and 4 year old. The museum is wonderful - small but so much to do for this age. They had a special art activity for Thanksgiving for a nominal additional fee. The art teacher was WONDERFUL. The kids had so much fun making their Thanksgiving trees. Would highly recommend to anyone with younger children.

My son has been visiting this museum since he started to walk and it is by far his place. The museum is housed in an old house in Boynton Beach, restored to fit the museum. It is small but it has a lot of interactive installations that tells the story of south Florida. The first floor has a large train, a large table with a Thomas train set and many pieces to build, a large cow and activities related to farming and the citrus industry. A puppet show display, a kitchen and dining room installation with many toys and costumes. The second floor has an installation about the Everglades, a post office, a doctors office and a grocery store. It is a beautiful place with a great staff. Installations are clean and well cared for. They rent space for birthday parties and have many events and classes on weekdays. It is so good we have a yearly membership and visit quite often. Outside there is a large playground with a wood castle where kids can run and play. This is a great place to take your young children and scape the hot and stormy Florida weather. We love it.

For kids under age 6 or so, this place provides hours of fun inside and out. Inside has two floors, each with several rooms, containing many interactive "toys." There is an admission fee. Outside are a large group of creative playground objects, such as a multi-deck sailing ship.

This visit was so enjoyable for our 4 and 5 year old we are returning before the end of our trip. The museum is two stories, with interactive, developmentally appropriate play and learning activities for toddlers to age 8/9. Our favorites were the train room complete with a replica of a train and Thomas toys, the farm area, and the doctor's office. The playground out back is extensive and huge, with several connected walkways, tunnels, slides, castle, etc. Well worth the modest fee and any drive you may have. Very clean and bright inside. Bring your own snacks as there are no vending machines or snacks to purchase.
