Butterfly World was a really nice way to spend an afternoon. It's a little pricy, but it was worth it.Ask for your AAA discount. It featured butterfly enclosures. One room was showed the process from caterpillar to butterfly. There was an interesting bug museum. You can feed the Lorikeets like at San Diego zoo.The semi tropical flora were really beautiful. The only down side was an extremely slow snack bar with few choices.Overall this is a winner.
I've been to several butterfly exhibits; this is by far the best. Not just the flying jewels of butterflies but birds and flowers too. This is a nature lovers delight. And, there is a lorikeet exhibit where you can feed them. They'll land on your head, alight on your arms...such fun. The next time I'm in FL, I'm going to visit again
A little on the pricey side but a unique outing for insect curious little ones or adults! Feeding the lorikeets was a highlight! The butterflies are beautiful!
While my daughter visited Palm Beach Atlantic University, I visited Butterfly World. It was an overcast day, which isn't the best for the viewing of the butterflies. The cashier was going to give me a two year rain check. But I'm from PA and had no clue if or when I'd return. So he gave me $6 off the ticket, much appreciated. The butterflies were still busy and flying, just not as they would be if the sun were out. But, hey, I was contented. My favorite part was visiting the lorikeets and the lories! For $1.00 you got the thrill of having no less than 4-7 birds on your forearms striving to eat the liquid you were holding. I enjoyed this so much, I did it 5 times with fantastic photos to send home.
My wife and I are nature lovers, and this butterfly exhibit was absolutely great- it really was an enchanting experience and lived up to its advertising. The rest of the exhibits (birds, bugs and some gardens) were nice, but not on the same level as the butterflies, but the butterflies alone, were worth the 1 hour drive from the Miami area.
My family had a pleasant day. The few butterflies we saw were nice and it was fun feeding the birds. Unfortunately, we visited on one of a few days where it was too cold for the butterflies so (a) the butterflies were not active (b) they closed the facility early.
There are few places you can go where you can feel so peaceful, the butterflies are truly amazing, so many varieties large to small so many colors it is so relaxing. They have a nice snack bar, and some good exhibits.....Worth the money and a great gift shop.
We are glad that there were areas that you thoroughly enjoyed at Butterfly World. Unfortunately, for us, some of your favorite experiences are listed toward the end of your review. Still, we are thrilled that you enjoyed being "overwhelmed" with butterflies, the Lorikeet Encounter and the Bug Zoo. We are also sorry that some aspects of your experience were disappointing. We work extremely hard to meet expectations! If any shortcomings had been mentioned at the time of your visit, we would have gone above and beyond to please you, and would have happily given you a "raincheck" for another visit, especially if, perhaps, you came on a day when the butterflies were more dormant due to weather.
Enter a world that is paradise on earth! You enter several aviaries - each with the most beautiful birds, exotic flowers and of course, butterflies of all types. You can just sit and watch them fly all around you or actively explore to get the best photos. We did both. Please go there if you want to come out with a smile on your face and lightness of heart!
We are so very pleased you enjoyed your time here at Butterfly World. Many people are a bit surprised that this time of year the butterflies remain active. Due to our love for butterflies and excellent staff, visitors can enjoy the beauty of Butterfly World all year round. We look forward to your next visit, and thank you for the wonderful description of Butterfly World!

Thank you for visiting Butterfly World! We are so excited that you enjoyed your day with us, and we look forward to seeing you again!
Butterfly World is more than just butterflies!. It is a nature lover's dream. There are multiple exhibits. All are walk-through so the human is amongst the butterflies and birds. There must be hundreds of varieties of butterflies; beautiful landscaping; dozens of tropical birds and hummingbirds. i didn't see any hummingbirds on my visit and am not sure why; however, there were so many other beauties to see, I didn't mind. Lots of walking; most outdoors. On the day I visited it was not crowded and it was 70 degrees. Perfect. They had a cafe but I did not patronize it (we had eaten lunch already); and a nice gift shop where I did get a nice shirt as a souvenir. I got a significant discount using my AAA card. I would say suitable for mature well behaved young people and adults only.
great place to visit, lots of butterfly's and they will land on you. Also lots of birds and half way thru they have a snack bar.Hamburgers r good
I was a little uncertain of what to expect and a bit concerned because of the steep admission price ($26), but it turned out to be one of the best attractions I have ever been to. This is no little roadside attraction, but a very large and professionally run facility consisting of research labs and plant nurseries as well as fantastic butterflies from all over the world; beautiful, exotic gardens; several aviaries; an insect museum; a café; and an enormous gift shop with every type of butterfly doodad you can imagine. You get a map as part of the admission, but for $1 extra you can buy a glossy book that goes into great detail about the butterflies and plants. It is well worth the $1.The gardens are fantastic, well maintained, and full of beautiful orchids as well as an amazing number and variety of butterflies. I had no idea there were so many different types of butterflies or that their colors would be so varied. We spent about 3 hours there and at the end upgraded out admission to a one-year, unlimited pass for an additional $24 ($50 total for the year). This place is now on my list of places to bring visitors from out of town.
