This huge park was a former dump site, the hill is now part of the park and the hill has a great scenic, breath taking view (especially at sunset) of the West Broward area.Great for joggers, walkers doing hill interval training, paragliders,I saw a horse trainer training here too!! Nice breeze at the top of the hill The Park has covered picnic areas by the water for boating and a nice playground for the kids. There is an entrance fee and it gets pretty busy on the weekend but the view is worth the trip.
We found this park by accident since it was near the Waffle House we had just enjoyed. We were lucky to get in early and be able to stroll around before the crowds arrived. There is an entrance fee per person but inexpensive and well worth the cost. The grounds are well maintained and so are the restrooms. There are all kinds of activity areas including a model airplane zone, paragliding area and walking and running trails. There are many shelters and areas for gathering. A large pond is on one side of the park where fishing is permitted and horse trails are on the other. We spent about 2 hours strolling around and enjoying the views - not too many tall hills in Florida, and these views were pretty awesome.
Good place to be with family. Has two kids play. Place for work out. Trail. RC plane flying area. And a RC car track too....
The scenary is amazing here. Such a vast field and I came here right before the sunset, and it was such an experience. I was here for a picnic with my friends. I was scared though by someone fishing turtles once??? don't think that's legal there, somebody should be walking around and watching people sometimes. Besides that, lovely experience.
A great little place to hang, especially to see the sunrise or sunset. Bring a bike, or your dog, and a few light snacks and it will make for a great trip.
I love this park so much! It has a huge dock, a giant park, basketball courts. Please rate and review to let me know what you think of this awesome park. Thanks, bye!!!
This park is built on a former dump and has the only "high" view in the area. Riding or jogging up and down this hill is a great workout. At times you can watch people launch gas powered paragliders from the top of this hill. There is nothing else like it for many miles. Locals come here for the novelty of being on the hill. (South Florida is "flat"; highest natural spot is 14 feet altitude).
I enjoy going to Vista View Park! I normally go there for races! Sometimes I host parties there. There are hills to run up and down. Had fun!
As stated by others, this is a former land fill, a "Mount Trash-more" if you will. It is family friendly with a lot of people running, biking and taking advantage of the elevation for the view as well. There are paved and dirt trails. If you need hill intervals in your training plan, this is your spot. As another reviewer stated though, the place could definitely us some more shade.
Vista View Park is a former garbage dump that has been converted for use as a park. Once at the top, you have a great view of the area. This is one of the highest points in Broward County (perhaps another dump is higher). There are two dump "hills" that make up this park. One of them is open to the public, with a road to the top and parking there as well. The other hill is still fenced off. Maybe one day it will be open to the public. There is a very nice breeze at the top of the hill on almost every day. If you want to relax under a tree enjoying the breeze, well good luck. There aren't that many trees on the top. This is the biggest drawback of this park to me. There just aren't enough trees to provide you with an escape from the sun. There have been more trees planted in recent years, but there are still many areas that (I feel) should have trees.
Not much vegetation, but great for joggers, walkers, model plane flyers, paragliders and great view of the area from the top of the park, especially at sunset...........lots of people fishing here as well and playgrounds for children
Considering that it is a converted garbage dump, they have done a good job. Many bike riders use the park, and the lakes are good for bass fishing.
