st. peter catholic church

I know a lot of the fine Catholic folks that are members there that contribute so much to this community. I've visited with them on holidays, funerals and regular services. The Church itself is an excellent place to worship and take communion, if you are Catholic. Also they have and support a home for pregnant women who have no place to go, so that can safely have their child then eventually find the help necessary for a positive future. Also they collect food for folks in need, support many different groups here and abroad. Plus they have the school for children through eight grade, next to the Church then Father Lopez High School in Daytona, Florida. Plenty of events and meals but Octoberfest is most likely the biggest that most all DeLand residents look forward to every year for ages because of the economically sales, the fun rides and uplifting fellowship with one another. Definately a GODLY place!

Community, love and the spirit is really here! Love going here when in town! Everyone is so friendly and Father Tom is the best!

I have been a parishioner for many years. Father Tom has done wonders for the church. He is a dear Priest. The stained glass windows are gorgeous, the Holy Spirit's presence can be felt all over the property. The Adoration Chapel is very special. I look forward to Oktoberfest every year. The church is very involved in community projects for unwed mothers, poorer neighborhoods, health outreaches and other good programs. I highly recommend St Peter's Catholic Church and School.

St. Peter is at the center of an active congregation of Christians in the heart of Deland. The numerous masses on Saturdays and Sundays extend throughout the week to allow full participation by the parishioners. The sanctuary is large with an extended roof that draws your eyes up to enjoy the full chancel with new appreciation of the expansive love of God. The weekly schedule highlights the wide variety of activities within the parish, including St. Peter's School right across the street. Participation in a morning or evening mass will energize you!

Love Father Tom...what a wonderful and compassionate Pastor! And, his array love for his dogs (who often appear at Mass) is so heartwarming! This Church is fortunate of have such a wonderful Priest caring for their spiritual and personal needs!

Fr. Tom - what a priest - holy and attentive to his community. He is a great role model for the children at the school. We have been members for several years now - and I highly recommend this church.

It was easy to follow the mass since they had projections on the front wall. They even had a little girl speak about the school and she was terrific. The other priest kept your attention while praising the value of Catholic schools.

This is a place that you need to go if you are Catholic and passing through - if you are staying for awhile - attend the wonderful Bible Study on Wed.s at 9:30 a.m. or 7 p.m. every week. Pastor is a great homilist - and the music is fantastic. Love the people.

Very nice local catholic church! Father Tom is very close to the people. I am not a weekly member, but always feel welcome and happy to be in this area and church family.

We visited several Catholic Churches before joining St. Peter's. it was an important decision & I wanted to feel at home in the church I chose. The pastor, Fr. Tom, is quite a character & the homilies are theologically sound & often amusing. They try very hard to interest the children & young folk. They succeed. There are many different ministries to be involved in. The music director is very talented. The heart of this parish is in the right place. God is pleased, I'm sure.
