okaloosa island

This was our first visit. Our resort was on the island and it was beautiful. The waters are blue and clear, the shopping is awesome and it's right in between Fort Walton and Destin for restaraunts and such!

Stayed with friends at Sea Oats condos. The walk to the beach was short. The beach was well maintained by the staff for the mile walk that we had.

Okaloosa Island is a nice drive between Destin and Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Great seaside view on one side and the inter coastal waterway on the other side. Pick your action... for waves and surf the gulf; for tamer waters, kite surfing, wave runners, etc., pick the sound!

Beautiful beach!!!! Located halfway between Fort Walton Beach and Destin. Perfect location and out of the way of the heavy traffic! Can't wait to go back!!!!

Okaloosa island,is a beautiful place to visit lots to do with the boardwalk,gulfarium,put put and arcades.its close to destin which is also a great place

Very touristy - a number of places to eat, good boardwalks, a number of tourist shops, and some good beaches. Typical "tourist" destination.

Great times spent with family when not out on boat. The beach is a great place to be at sunset. My granddaughter and friends love to spend spring break here.

Clean beaches. Nice white sand and clear sea water. Plenty of beach to walk and enjoy. We were at the island in January and February so this was not the right time for swimming

Great place to walk and talk with people. Watch people fish. You can sit and juist enjoy the water as the waves approach the beach.

We came in the off season. It was beautiful, sunny, scenic and breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. The pier is there and the Boardwalk. Only wish there were chairs and umbrellas to rent, but it was February, so it's the off season. We will be back!

The island has a bridge connecting to the mainland and Fort Walton Beach (the city) at the one end and another connecting to the mainland and Destin (the city). There are a variety of hotels, resorts, restaurants, and homes on the island which is NOT a busy and congested as the surrounding areas. There is also a public beach and park and well as boat launching. A great vacation destination

The white sand beaches on Okaloosa island are stunning. It was cold and windy the day we were there - couldn't really enjoy our 'fun in the sun'.

The whole area will not leave you disappointed. Beautiful sands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Water is crystal clear and further out Emerald Green!!

Not much of note in the small town but a quick stop to look at the white sand dunes along the beach is time well spent. Very beautiful with emerald green ocean in the background.

This is such a beautiful little island. There is blue ocean and white sand on both sides of you. There are a few shops and lots of places to garb a drink or bite to eat. There is also the pier to check out. You can drive east to Destin or West to Ft. Walton Beach. There is even more to check out in those locations. A must visit on a sunny day!
