This club can't decide what it is. The course is covered with water hazards on every hole. It's confined by houses, therefore narrow. It was intended as a private club. That would make it tolerable and idiosyncratic. If they ran it as a private club it would play well without crowds. Members could love to hate it and return to the challenge of playing it often. For the day-trippers it is difficult and unknown. They slow play and can't enjoy the nuances. Unfortunately the "club" allows public play and makes deals with local hotels, etc. There are no privleges for members who pay montly dues (some actually paid initiation fees). They get thrown into the mix with the random outsiders. There are public courses such as nearby Barmoor which is a very friendly and open layout.
Bought through a GolfPac travel package that a friend of mine organized, so I am not sure what the cost of this course was. If you get a decent price it is probably ok. First off the Staff is an A+, very friendly bunch of guys working the starter area, Lynn the cart girl very pleasant, behind the counter staff, very nice as well. The layout is a little dull, flat like most area courses but not much in the way of trees no real wow factor. One neat hole is a par three that you off of elevated tee boxes set out in the mangroves, that was the highlight. Conditions were ok, a couple of greens had some problems and a few fairways were a beat up.
