I have been to several concerts here and have found it to be an enjoyable experience every time. The staff are also very friendly. The seating is great and there is not really a bad seat in the whole place. I don't drink but they also serve alcohol.
We went to this venue for the very first time to see a show. It will be our last. The staff / managers / t-shirt security all a little full of themselves. Very rude to say the least. The performers were great, but the sound supplied by the venue was terrible. Seating very uncomfortable. Everyone crammed together. Not a good experience there at all. They should probably stick to wedding receptions and local parties. Staff needs training in PR and people skills. Especially the big guy with the beard who appeared (or thought he was) in charge. Not a good experience and would not recommend going there to anyone. Save your money and go to a professionally ran and established venue.
I was here in May for my cousin's wedding and this venue is just perfect! The hall was open, large enough for a wedding, dance floor was flawless, no bumbs or ridges that would mess up one dancing and getting down. I also liked how the food and bar area was separate from the main room, it flowed perfectly and its a wonderful spot for a wedding or even a concert of some type. Or even a private event.
Parking was easy and well coordinated, there is a small fee and you will need to park on the grass. Very pleasant volunteers working the tickets and seating. Acoustics a bit off at times but overall pretty good. Liked the intimate atmosphere and the ease of exiting after the concert. Absolutely hated the annoyance of the flashing cameras as well as people sticking cell phones in your space to video the show. This was a deal breaker for me. They need to ban cameras.
Every seat here is a good one. This place seats between 400-500. The ease of getting in and out is a big plus. The food and drink service is good and not expensive. If they had more entertainment to our liking, we'd go all the time. Saw the Zombies and were blown away by how much we enjoyed being there. It's a fabulous secret, so don't tell anyone.
This is a beautiful venue, but management seems to book unknown or aged acts. There are many well known performersthat would love this place. They basically close up shop forprivate functions, movies, etc. Many people pay big bucks tobe a "member" of the hall only to see a few really good shies.Poorly managed, but a fun venue if they have a decent act.
Excellent ushers, Theatre acoustics fine. However the Ottmar Liebert on 6/13/14 was a disaster. His performance sounded like one never ending song. He played nothing that was recognizableI couldn't wait to run for the door. But the Concert Hall is fantastic
First visit to PV Concert Hall. Not a big jazz fan, but Acoustic Alchemy was great. The acoustics were outstanding, and the staff were very helpful. Looking forward to returning for another event soon.
Make sure you have your plans set in stone. Fortunately I didnt need a refund...but if I did I would have been out almost 200.00. Most reputable venues at least give you a 72 hour window. Not this one. Just know up front because they don't post this information anywhere on their website.Otherwise, a good venue. :)
This is a fabulous venue for music. We heard jazz guitarists Tommy Emanuel and Martin Taylor here. The setting is intimate, the acoustics are wonderful and the place is neat and clean. It used to be a church so it is a bit unusual for s concert setting, but it works. There is plenty of leg room, but the seats are uncomfortably close. That is my only complaint and it certainly wouldn't keep me away.
I was VERY pleasantly surprised with this venue. The acoustics were fantastic and we had great seats in the middle of the second row. The building is clean and well- kept. The bathrooms were spotless and well stocked. The chairs are locked together somehow and I can see it being uncomfortable if the event is sold out but all in all it was a great experience. I'm looking forward to going back in May.
I include many types of music within the term Americana - Bluegrass, blues, folk, Cajun and some forms of rock. Generally performers who do this type of music come over better in smaller more intimate settings and the Ponte Vedra Hall provides such a venue. The acoustics are fantastic. We've heard Keb Mo', the Carolina Chocolate Drops and, most recently, John McCuthcheon. All gave excellent performances and filled the hall with music. The seating is in comfortably padded folding chairs. As noted in other reviews there is no seating outside of the main hall, but the doors to the main hall open (at least in our experience) 1 hour before the concert and since it's a smallish venue that is ample lead time and you will be able to sit. There is a bar area attached with beer, wine cocktails and light snacks for sale. It is also very handicap accessible. Although the chairs are hooked together the chair on the outside of the row can be removed easily to make room for a wheel chair. You do have to sit stage left, but the handicap seats are in the first few rows so visibility is good. There are about 6 handicap parking spaces immediately adjacent to the building. You do need to get tickets in advance to ensure that you have a handicap space, but a call a few hours ahead is usually sufficient. We've found the price of admission to be very reasonable and scaled to the popularity of the act so Keb Mo' costs more than John McCutcheon, for example. One word of warning - there is a $5 charge for parking. This is a St. Johns County facility and in addition to the professional acts hosts a variety of locally produced shows and concerts. In sum, the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall is an excellent addition to the venues available around the St. Augustine/Ponte Vedra area and presents some great entertainment values. It is also an easy drive from south Jacksonville and Jacksonville Beach.
Its a little strange knowing that this used to be a Baptist Church, which was around for years, and now has live entertainment of all kinds. Due to this fact the design was made to carry acoustics throughout the whole room. For a small venue this place has some decent names come through to entertain so keep your eye out for someone that you would enjoy seeing. This Concert Hall is great in the fact that sound is good and the size gives it an intimate and personal feel. Ive enjoyed seeing some of the bands that I grew up listening to and would recommend it to others
For a few brief evenings, this venue, a former church, becomes the first Movie House in Ponte Vedra BEach. WJCT, the NPR station in Jacksonville, sponsors 4 or 5 old classic movies and runs them at the Concert Hall on several consecutie evening. Great fun! The main business of the Concert Hall, though for live concerts. Never attended one of those, but they must be good since they always appear to be crowded. Great venue!
Nice intimate venue....Easy parking.....Folding chairs and one level seating so you end up bobbing your head back and forth to see the stage. Love that it is what it is, though, and another chance to see entertainment. Chocolate Drops were great.....
