This compact park is located on Tampa Bay so you get water views and the breeze. Nice to picnic or walk the dog but also to be over whelmed by an extant Indian Mound...one not bull dozed for Florida Highways!!!!! Prior homestead of Philippe who brought grapefruit to Florida. Huge live oak trees. Ample parking. Bring bug spray as mosquitos might be about.
This is a great destination for all young and old. Surrounded by Tampa Bay and on the Southern part of Safety harbor....... This park is a piece of Florida History. It features and old Indian Burial Mound and dozens of picnic shelters throughout the Park, in addition to a Public-Access boat ramp. Bring a fishing pole along and fish anywhere along the shore........ Beautiful, Picturesque setting......... Recommend!!!
Philippe Park is a lovely, picturesque park located just north of downtown Safety Harbor. It is worth the visit. Bring a chair and sit along the seawall for a gorgeous relaxing view. Great for walks, biking, and picnicking. There is also history in the park with Indian mounds. Free too!
Perfect for biking, picnicking, fishing, family gatherings, picture taking, walking, special events, volleyball, softball, playground for kids, sitting and doing nothing.
We enjoyed walking along the seawall. We appreciated the paved paths. To descend to the paved path along the seawall, you have a choice of a staircase or a grassy hill. Oak tree canopy is a pretty sight.
Philippe Park is so beautiful. The picnic was for the intellectually challenged adults. They all seemed to enjoy their time there. We reserved a Cabana in case of rain.
What I love about this park is the history that comes with it. Indian mounds, beautiful woods and the bay. A nice place to stroll and sit .
This area has so many beautiful parks to visit and Philippe Park is one of the best. Safety Harbor itself has some interesting history and Philippe Park is a big part of it.
This is a beautiful water-front park. Bring your picnic and spend the afternoon. You can take a walk along the water, go fishing or just read a book on the bench.
I go there a lot and it is wonderful. The breeze is especially nice. I take long walks there with my children.
We had not been to this park for years, and now we wonder why! After running errands on a Sunday afternoon, we decided to walk our canines around inside the park. Clearly a favorite with boaters, walkers, runners, and bikers, this was a wonderful way to end our weekend. Worth the few miles' drive away from our neighborhood, the waterfront trails made us feel miles away from civilization. We can't wait, to come back for a picnic. For free admission, this makes for a fabulous outing.
Today was a bit cool, but sunny and the breezes were gentle as we set out to visit Phillipi Park in Safety Harbor. After a lovely drive through the length of the park, we pulled into one of the picnic areas near the water...Our pups got to enjoy some time with their paws in grass and fresh clean air. This is a definite destination for when the kids come down in February.
Title says it all. I also enjoy how it is the center of an old, almost forgotten American Indian tribe. The location on Safety Harbor is very pretty and you can enjoy the Coast Guard practicing helicopter reduces etc sometimes. We enjoy walking our dogs in the park although there is no dedicated dog park unfortunately. Very well maintained park.
If you looking for a place for a family outing or a great place to launch a boat to fish the upper part of Tampa Bay this is the place to be. Good facilities and very quiet.
We just took our youngest granddaughter there. Her first visit; our 50th. Great views, quiet, plenty to do. Take food or not, it is worth the trip. I often bike thru the park as there is a back entrance from Safety Harbor for bikers and hikers.
