We love going to La Porte farms! There are always staff there to show you around and have a meet and greet with the animals. We love attending the holiday festivities! The LaPorte family has gone above and beyond by donating back to our community. I always know my donations are going to the right place. Can't thank them enough!
Went to see Christmas lights. Really pretty. so many animals of all sorts. llamas, Zebras, goats, horses, Birds, butterfly garden, pond for fishing, you name it! Pretty grounds!
great place to spend the afternoon with family. fun for the kids. went for the afternoon took several little kids, they loved it.
The variety and quality of animals is high. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful. Swans live near the pond. And, I like Laura LaPorte. She is a Godly, generous woman.
This day Oct. 5, 2014 my family and I it was like ten of us got together for the first time to go to the farm and It was never a dull moment. We had a great time and the service we received was wonderful. We are goin again next Sunday, also we told several morr people.
In a quiet part of Sebastian, Florida one can find a host of a wide assortment animals that are lovingly care for. The enclosures are well spaced and very clean. Exotic animals (zebra, zebu, monkeys and birds), butterfly house, domestic animals ( miniature horses, ponies, donkey, goats, baby pigs and birds). The staff is excited about the critters and very willing to share.
We recently visited Sebastian and were looking for something to do with our young grandchildren ages 1, 3 and 5. Under trip advisor, I read about LaPorte Farms. Not a lot of people were familiar with this little gem of a place. Using our GPS, we decided to check it out and give it a try since there is not much to do for kids in the area except going to the beach and fishing at Sebastian Inlet. We were so impressed with the place! We found a large variety of animals, a very cleean, well kept place and a beautiful and serene atmosphere. The animals are very well taken care of as well as the grounds. The staff is super friendly and bring the animals to you to pet. There are hens, roosters, baby chicks, a chicken coop, a zebra, llamas, goats, pigs, ducks, all sorts of interesting birds including parrots and sun conures, ponies, donkeys, a beautiful swan swimming in a lovely pond, marmosets, geese, turkeys, pheasants, a beautiful butterfly house and many more gorgeous animals. There are pony rides for a $5.00 fee. What else can I say except that we can't wait to be back with more family members. There is not an entrance fee per say, but there is a box discreetly placed for a very well deserved donation. One can pack a lunch and bring it. This is something we will do next time. It is such a beautiful, peaceful place. One can sit back, relax and enjoy listening to the roosters' cockadoodledos. They will be having an Easter egg hunt this April, I think on the 19th. Trust me on this one, don't leave Sebastian without a visit to this little piece of heaven.
Our times at La Porte Farms have been second to none!! My daughter Sophia has visited the wonderland many times over and each time is a new experience for her. This place is a real diamond in the rough. We are always greeted with open arms and welcomes from the gracious hostess Laura La Porte who has done endless charitable fund raisers for every cause under the sun. She is a true living saint for her works with Cancer and other none profit organizations. When you go to the farm the admission is purely by donation which tells me that if you are low income you are every bit as welcome as the next! This is a self guided tour of farm animals and beautiful gardens and ponds. La Porte Farms was built on one women's dreams and passion for others to enjoy.
What a treat this place was! The kids got to hold month old piglets. I never knew something so little could squeal so loud. We went early because it was cooler & the animals were awake. They just have collection boxes for donations but there are a lot of animals & farm fresh eggs for sale. I think this will be a regular stop for us when they visit the grandparents.
This farm is where you would like to take your children to visit, pet, and feed many kinds of farm animals and then some. There are pony rides, a butterfly house to stroll through, and daily activities for children of all ages. They open their gates early so get there when the animals are hungry. There is no admission fee, but donations are greatly accepted.
We live about 10 minutes away from Laporte Farms and recently visited for our first time. I was amazed at what we've been missing out on! I took my three kids ages 1.5, 5, and 9.They all enjoyed it! There is fun for all. Lots of animals to see- from farm animals to an adorable monkey! At the time we went, there was no entrance fee. However, they do ask for donations. What a great way to spend time with the kids.
Laporte Farms is a wonderful small farm with lots of great animals. Our grand daughters loved the close contact with the animals. The staff are just wonderful and so accomodating. They had a great pony ride and got to hold some chicks. The property is beautiful and the animal enclosures are very clean. It is obvious the animals are well loved and cared for. Fee is by donation only. It is a terrific place to spend some time and enjoy the wildlife.
took my daughter (8) and niece (11) yesterday and they had a blast. There are plenty of animals to get close to and experience. Staff is super friendly and very accomodating. Animals were brought up to us to be pet and feed. I highly recommend for families looking to spend the day with some cool animals. No fee, but donations are suggested.
Took 6 cousins here, ranging in age from 5 to 14 years old. They all had a great time, and the adults too. Animals are up close and personal, we got to pat a lot of them, even the Zebra who came up to the fence. The kids had a great time interacting with the different birds. Very fun place, and peaceful too - just watch out for the male swan, he is not nice!
It's a beautiful farmette laid out on 5 acres. It appears to be well thought out, and houses a variety of cute critters, including ponies, goats, a llama, a small family of cattle, geese, ducks, chickens, swans, and a ZEBRA!!! There is a small butterfly enclosure, but excellent for capturing some pictures close up. Kids can even feed the "flutterbies" with a q-tip dipped in juice. The animals appeared to be well cared for and the grounds nicely maintained. Bring your kids or grands, and a camera.
