Spanish Springs Square is a lot of fun all the restaurants here have a really nice Happy Hour 7 Days a week with nightly entertainment with dancing on the Square
Evening entertainment is wonderful. Food and shopping are great. Wish it had a Starbucks, like Lake Sumter Landing does.
This is a great place to visit. Always something happening. Katie Belle's and Louiginos are two great restaurants in the square.
It was very pretty, lots going on. Wish there were more stores around. Good spot for a beautiful wedding.
Great place for people watching, the best! Try and go after 5:00pm so you can dance or sit and watch others dance and enjoy the music every night of the year. Shops to browse in every direction with little outdoor cafes, gift shops and restaurants that are inviting and serve great food and drinks.Need more music and inside dancing check out Katie Bells across the street from the square.
A nice place to shop and eat. Nice stores, they have music every night! A great farmers market on Thursday! Really enjoyed walking around there. Lived the Chico's store!!!
Live music every evening, all sorts dancing (if u want) happy hour drinks at the 2 shacks. restaurants, coffee shops, bars, shops all round the square. Market once a week, cinema. You really have to hand it to the Americans, they just get it - this is a predominantly adult area / retirement community however they are fit ! I couldn't keep up & it's not what you would imagine...old aged pensioners hobbling around - it doesn't happen - probably because they are doing one of the multitude of sports that are available or more than one. I was astounded just how busy & active this place is. Golf carts to travel around in are fun & legal or walk or take the car or the motorcycle, anything goes. Good variety of shopping, small individual or the chane store type. Good variety of restaurants to pick from, some with live music, some without. There's another square called sumpter landing, 10 mins by golf cart, it's just as good with other shops, restaurants, cinema etc. I've been to this area 3 times now & am going again this month for holls. Everything is so easy here, not overly expensive, easy from airport (both) as you can book the villages minivan.Hire a car go for a few nights to the keys, Clearwater, St petes, Daytona, Anna Maria Island or the Disney area or wherever else you fancy. If stayed in rentals within Spanish springs but am going to hotel this time as couldn't get a rental property as I was probably too late in booking so they were all taken(popular area)You should give it a go (but maybe not if your a teenager)
The Town Square is of a nice size to accommodate the very many people who watch the bands perform and the occasional craft fairs. Surrounding the Square are restaurants and shops. Parking is easier if you travel by golf cart, but one can find car parking a block away.I visited the Market Town Square which is larger. It has some nice shops and restaurants, but I felt it looked like Hollywood set. The Brownwood Paddock square has a western theme and is not yet completed.Golf is everywhere but tennis on Har-Tru is limited to an area north of Spanish Springs in the Glenview Golf Complex and the Nancy Lopez Golf Complex. Hard courts are found in the different sections of the Villages.
Attractive setting and landscaping, various music makers nightly. Corner open-air bars open 4 to 9 p.m. (two 4 one's 4 to 6 p.m.) Dancing, people watching, meeting new friends, showing off for visitors are approved activities. Shopping available in shops surrounding the square and vendors on Mon. and Wednesdays.
Outstanding free entertainment every night. 2 for 1 Happy hour 5pm-7pm. (The other 2 Squares only 5-6pm) Without exception the friendliest of the 3 Squares, don't know why exactly. I go 3-4 times a week.
This rec center is outfitted and decorated with wonderful collections of military artifacts. The floors and chairs resemble White House decorations. They have figurines of military people in uniform. Many IKE items as well as old and new flags and pictures. If you are in the Villages you should see this during your visit.Since it is a rec center you will need to have a guest or owner pass and some rooms are not available for viewing when meetings are in process. Good to call the center and see what time is best.
There are some really nice aspects to Spanish Springs - a good variety of shops and restaurants, live music and dancing if that is your thing. One thing that can sour a person's experience though is some of these old people who have had a few too many during happy hour and then get on those golf carts, or even worse, walk out in the street right in front of your car, (that happened to us the last time we were there, and then the guy stood there in the middle of the street, yelling at us). I couldn't believe it! It would be good for some to remember that it is still a public place, with public roads, and not just there for the exclusive use of seniors who live in the Villages. Traffic laws, crosswalks, and DUI's apply to the golf cart set as well.
This square is completely developed, and full of good stores, pubs, and an entertainment pavilion in the middle! Crowded in the winter (Snowbirds), but less so in the warmer months!
Very accessible even with golf car. Very clean and orderly. Many fine restaurants, most w outdoor seating, nice shops, lots of parking. Four kiosks on the square serve cocktails you can stroll with. Live FREE entertainment every night. Love this place!
One of our favorite destinations for live music and dancing with a variety of great restaurants and shops all around you.
